Think we all got put into that side bit speedy , I must have been late then so , must have been why it kicked off so so so many times .Our coach window got put through in Pond Street that day, we were late getting there, and got put on the side terrace with their lot.
Your right about Cambridge , and Carlise that's a long fucking trip into oblivion, we won 3-0 btw , think we lost 2-1 to Chester , well we did the time I went , Blackburn can't help ya with mate .Early away games I remember were Blackburn,Cambridge,Carlisle,Chester maybe around 1979/80 ish,we lost 0-1 at Cambridge the year we went down.
I remember going to Carlisle and Martin Peters was playing for us,I think that was later tho.
The Blackburn game I remember blades fans shoving a big grass roller into the gate and knocking it down.
Can anyone remember that?
Remember sat high up in the Brian Clough Stand that day with the Forest Mongs. If I remember rightly a certain Mr Nigel Clough scored the second goal? Not a great day. Despise Forest.
swillsbro 1959 i think county cup final was either 3 0 or 4 1 to us cec coldwell holding the cup upI also remember going to Mansfield and we won 4-3,also Reading and Oxford and Port Vale in 1981 Keith Edwards scoring think we won 2-0
I think they did the treble against us that seasonMy first away game was Leicester away in the cup......When we got spanked in the cup 3 nowt. Think about 1975 without looking.
The famous Currie free kick, where he slammed the ball into one of the big daft plate glass boxes behind the goal. When somebody was making "good luck" gestures to him.
I went to the 93/94 match at Liverpool with a Scouse mate standing on the Kop. Liverpool took the lead so I thought ah well just enjoy standing on the Kop at Anfield and forget about the fact we're going to get stuffed.
We only go and win and I'm the only Blade in Anfield that can't celebrate. Either a great day or a nightmare I'm still not sure now all these years later!!!
27 Apr 1982 for that last minute equaliser away at Bury.
My mate's dad started taking us in his car and we went to Bury, Crewe and Darlo but it was all a bit civilised and we were always in the stands.
I can't even remember the Crewe result (we won 3-2 apparently), my only memory is that the stand was very narrow, you couldn't see the corners and if one person leaned forward to see, it blocked everyone else's view.
