Mutual consent

The main difference for me was that Nigel Clough has absolute free reign to sign a ridiculous amount of players, mould the team into exactly to one he wanted and get them to play exactly how he liked.

He got to spend more money on a left back than Adkins has been given for an entire season.

He was allowed a storming January while Adkins got a dry January.

Adkins has spent his entire season wiping his nose with Clough's very expensive used tissues.

Agreed though I still wasn’t sold on sacking Clough as I think broadly speaking, unless a manager is doing an atrocious job (Weir, Heath, Robson) it’s usually worth giving them the time to right their own wrongs compared with the alternative of starting from scratch with a new man. Warnock seemed to take us backwards for a couple of seasons after the triple assault but was given time to remedy it, fix his own mistakes (Cullip, Hayles, Rankine, Thirlwell etc.). Half decent managers, given enough time, will usually improve a team and take them forward. They make poor signings but then they weed them out and replace them with, on average, better ones. New manager every year with no continuity as to playing style, management style etc. just results in an alienated squad unable or unwilling to do what the manager wants and cliques in the dressing room.

It means that IMO the new evidence presented might have swung the original verdict in Ched's favour, so the appeal court may rule the original verdict unsafe.

I am not a lawyer though so take the above with a pinch of salt.

Thanks for sharing Highbury. Though based on all the reported evidence during the trial I thought he’d be found not guilty so it goes to show what a layman’s opinion is worth I guess.

The team news wasn’t guesswork. Knowing about the change to 352 before it happened and then knowing about Collins being injured the week after, knowing DCL would be chucked in when he was etc. no way could someone guess all that. He definitely had info on that.

I reckon it's just the guy told to press print on the A4 letterheaded match day teamsheets given out on the day...

chelseas had 12 in the last decade
hasnt really made them useless has it

complaining weve had 9 managers since 2006
surprise comparison
so have Real Madrid

I said what Adkins said, hes not the board

But then communicating in the English language isn't your strong point so you probably meant something else altogether.

I am 50/50 regardin NA, a few weeks ago I was in favour by around 55/45, and more so before that, the board do not set out to hire a manager for a year, unless of course it is on a agreed short term plan to help the club out, I was really pleased when we set him on, in fact I couldn't believe we managed to get him, however the board of any company have to make discisions, sometimes discisions they would prefer not to have to make, the board didnt see this season coming and have to decide what to do for the future, in an ideal world you give the new man the time he needs, but that doesn't guarantee him his three years, go down to rovrum and ask them if they should have stuck with Evans who had done wonders or stuck with Neil redfearn who was only there a few weeks. The board at rovrum will no doubt go down as being clever and on the ball, but they didn't give Redfearn a chance, as always a lot of luck goes into selecting the right man,and proving to be right.

Anyone reckon that maybe he'll be off before Saturday? No media interviews today unusually.
just been on Bladesplayer and noticed that as well. Crosby did em last week, and nowt at all this week. Adkins did post a picture on twitter of a rainbow at the training ground a couple of days ago though, really not sure what to make of it all.

It's an arch of colours visible in the sky, caused by the refraction and dispersion of the sun's light by rain or other water droplets in the atmosphere. The colours of the rainbow are generally said to be red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

Just uploaded the first one now, must have been doing them today for whatever reason, possibly because of yesterday's news.

are you Roygbiv in disguise? ;)

Could be that his contract allowed us to pay him minimal compensation and relieve him of his job if we are not promoted this season. Thus the reason for his emphasis on getting promotion, I.e. We must get promoted this season, which was often quoted at the start of the season.
Did we want rid of him and subsequently did not provide him with any January transfer funds?

"My remit is within the time spam of my three year contract to get the club to the next level"

"We are moving forward and in the right direction and we will get there whether it will be this year, next year, the year after or the one after that."

"I am not going anywhere."

I am sure William Henry Foulkes will be along shortly with the full transcript.

Just listened to the full interview – last couple of mins are on this rumour, and the "mutual consent" part was also pressed on by Staton. If he's agreed to leave he's hiding it pretty well, because he certainly didn't sound like he's imminently off.

On my phone so can't hear it till later this evening.

I did contact Rob Staton last night though, hoping RS would ask.

If anyone does have time to transcribe I for one would be keen to read it.

Maybe SJH has left by mutual consent.

"What you say is correct. If we don't finish in the top six, the club has the right to terminate the deal. That's the deal I signed."

I don't think he would ever say that.

What he said was all he could really say.

Oh cynical!

Exactly. For a few people to mention it and mention the fact that the club have a clause to terminate if we don't finish in the top six only for someone who has never been wrong to come on and confirm it. There's too many rumours, and in the case of SJH very very believable ones, all saying the same thing for it not to have any substance.

I'd wager the club included the clause in the contract with the view that it was very unlikely we would ever finish so low as not to get in the play offs any way. I don't believe Adkins and the club have officially agreed they ARE going to part ways, hence the denial by Adkins. I just think it's almost a certain that we have the clause we can activate as and when it's no longer mathematically possible to get in the play offs and that there has been talk of exercising it from within, which would explain the rumours.
