My overriding memory of Italian 90 is endless back passes, cynical fouls, and diving Germans. Hardly a classic.


It did however have the Heartwarming story of the dimunative Italian striker making his international debut in the first game, and going on to be the golden boot in the tournament. Take a bow toto schillachi

I hardly missed a game of it. 12 years old and massively in to football. Best summer ever.

This Charming Man by the Smiths always used to be on in the Sportsman before the match (for all I know it still could be, I've not been in for a few seasons) so this is always a good match day song.
