Are there any German Blades on here? If there are, I doubt you'd get them to talk about it.
I was not saying that you have to hate Germans and everything their country produces if you dislike the the Mail's past, I was pointing out an inconsistency. Holding the Mail to account for ever and a day whilst happily accepting companies that did far worse without a murmur of objection doesn't balance.
As a Brit who's been in Germany a while, I can say this issue is very complex here, not helped by a reluctance to talk about it. It's clear, though, that Germans as a whole have moved on and don't hate or despise companies who had Nazi associations in the past, because they've had to - otherwise they couldn't have carried on. Take the VW Beetle, Hitler's car of the people, if they had disregarded it as a piece of dispicable Nazism they would never have got their motor industry back on track. It would be unreasonable for a German to turn to another German who has just bought a VW and remind him of the company's Nazi past. I've never heard of such a thing happening.
