Of course they do. What about all the transfer news they discuss?

The big clue also being that Sky never said it was an update from the club.

An update on the latest position is an unusual one for someone to leak.

Let’s hope they come to a decision “sooner rather than later”. Another close season bogged down with crap like this is the last thing the club needs.

I think you’re just upset because you’re not getting to find out exactly what’s happening in real time as it happens. People, especially younger people, seem to have developed this expectation and sense of entitlement in these days of rolling 24/7 news coverage. Patience is a virtue that, sadly, modern society seems to be increasingly lacking.

Impatience, entitlement, narcissim and exaggeration. The state of the modern world these days. "

You’re trying to make this a personal thing, which is unnecessary.

My view is that we as a fanbase need this concluded quickly as we have one hit left at parachute payments. As a club we seem determined to move slowly in the summer months, perhaps we don’t have sufficient operational staff, who knows? But the evidence of the past is clear for all to see, the last couple of seasons we’ve been all over the place approaching the start of the season. It’s becoming a pattern.

It is, so why would the club leak it? If we look at where leaks have come from to date, it’s far more likely to have come from elsewhere.

Totally agree on your second point and a need for a quick resolution either way. We don’t want another pre season being handicapped.

Who says we're financially screwed after next season? Who says the owners aren't going to pipe up the cash to subsidise any losses? We just don't know.

I’m not. I shared my views on what I consider to be an unfortunate societal condition that has developed, one that I routinely see manifested on here by various posters. I was replying to a post by you which was just one of many examples. Although, to be fair, you are probably the one who has tried most to make it an issue, so there was a greater likelihood that it would be one of your posts that I responded to.

I’ll keep posting and I suspect others will do so too, you’re well within your rights to tell us not to and, of course, flag your observations on unfortunate societal conditions.

With such a downside to any decision being taken, wouldn't you take your time a bit too?

I understand the point you are making Raul. But you’ll appreciate there’s a downside to not making a decision, or a timely one, of course. 3.5 weeks is a long time in football.

I’d never tell anyone not to post, even when they start to become like a stuck record. But I will, of course, continue to seek to offer balance, as, I suspect, will others.

I’m dreading the proper breaking news.

On one hand wilder goes and we get an exciting foreign manager

On the other hand Wilder goes and we get someone like Cooper

On my third hand Wilder stays.

Please no breaking news if it’s just talk about the board are still in talks.

We lose £40m of income. It will have an enormous impact.
Yeah it shows too. You see it in the championship or lower.

Look at the clubs that come down. If they don't go up within those first 2 seasons. It seems like you get stuck at championship level again. And likely if you are in a promotion mix again it's going to be playoffs not autos. As they will be competing with freshly relegated PL sides and budgets.

Norwich, WBA, Huddersfield, Watford are recent good examples.

I'm looking at the PL teams now and aside from teams that have been either out of the PL for a number of seasons (Sunderland) or new to the division. (Brentford for example). None have gone back up in the 3rd year post relegation from the PL.

With such a downside to any decision being taken, wouldn't you take your time a bit too?
Yes although, if you sit on the fence for too long you get splinters. As a club that's quite a good metaphor. We are currently creating many splinters for ourselves whilst the uncertainty continues.

If he is staying there will be no breaking news...they won't be saying ' we've done a thorough review and decided that CW is still the best man for the job'.

Any news will be ' he's going ' and we will know he's staying if they drop a moody video on X of a ginger bloke covered in tattoos in a Blades shirt.

Are you available to be our 3rd choice keeper? 3 hands are better than 2. asking for an AI friend

What’s the ideal here, a foreign manager who can cope with the relentless cut and thrust of the Championship, or an English manager who is open to a more continental approach?

This thread is about the owners, who have made a decision to sack one of Sheffield United’s most successful managers, who has an outstanding record in the Championship.

It is of course their prerogative but why take this risk now? Supporters are inevitably divided on who to replace Wilder with and even why he should be replaced. More worryingly our band of new, inexperienced owners seem similarly divided on the best way forward.

We could have signed Chowdury for £6m but turned him down because ‘his data wasn’t right.’ We are placing huge emphasis on tech driven recruitment currently presided over by non football people.

A Director of Football is needed but who left at SUFC is qualified to select the right one? i gather Brian Tinnion is coming in, who has spent pretty much his whole career at Bristol City. Not saying that should rule him out but wouldn’t be my ideal profile for someone leading our new global AI-driven venture.

We’ll all get behind whoever comes in but the thought processes over these huge decisions seem troubling.

Choudry is on £60k PW at Leicester.

He was the most successful loan player last season IMO.

At £6m and £60k PW there's better value out there. Looks like a good decision to me.

It's their club now, and largely their money. If they take a day, or a month, I'm sure they've considered the costs and the ramifications.

Clearly we don't know the full story, and it could be that the stubborn, dogmatic streak in Wilder has been his downfall.

They could be waiting for the right manager to become available.

I wouldn't cry too hard or too long for Wilder though, as he'll be well compensated.

Personally, after the turgid and boring season last year, despite the points tally, I'd be happy with a change. If the owners wanted Wilder to adapt with a DoF and he won't, then he's been the architect of his own downfall.

£6m on a decent Championship midfielder on big wages is reason enough why we need a new approach to transfers.

These owners want to establish us in the Premier League. Choudhury has proven he's not close to that level, and to spunk £6m, big wages and a lengthy contract on someone with no resale value, and who isn't good enough for the level you want to go get to makes no business sense at all.

I'm not saying the owners approach will work either, but it's time to try something new as it's been proven over the last few years that Wilder's style of scouting and recruitment is not the way to progress this club. That shows in the sell on value of the players he's signed over the years. Of the players still at the club who he's spent good money on, there's only Cooper and maybe Burrows who will be worth more now than what we paid for them.

We didnt sign Choudray because his wage was too high nothing to do with data being right

Yep I was relatively sanguine regarding the change itself and it was clearly on the cards from the moment it broke. Glad they pulled the trigger today and we can move forward, it couldn’t really drag on much longer.

Selles talks very well indeed, remains to be seen if he can deliver. But we go again and need to get behind him. Let’s hope for a healthy budget and some early transfer business being completed for a change. It would nice to start pre-season with some key additions in place.

It will be a little of both.

his data wasn't right....for the price point he would cost.

If he costs £1m and 5k/week I'd wager we'd sign him.

On the flip side we'd probably spend £6m and 60k/week if he had proven to be Michael Essien Mk II
