Mr McCabe

He came because he was specifically invited. He has never attended voluntarily. Off to the Everton forum, please, if you want to discuss Everton players. We're United on here...

I wouldn't have him back. Fuck him.
When discussing potential signings, they all currently play for other clubs. That's how signing players works. Thought you would understand that Pinchy.

I think Foxy and Linz prefer it to be in the Rumour Mill section with the rest of the bollocks. There's also "Other Sport" for Volleyball enthusiasts.

That's good I like Volleyball, thanks for your advice!

Wilder is his own man and will take no truck from McCabe.

If people don't know this by now....

Or maybe it just doesn't fit well with the agenda? It's well in evidence at the moment isn't it? Just one more of the things I am said to imagine but in fact play out on here as a matter of routine.

For jumping in his car to Goodson before the paint was wet on our relegation. For failing then or since to explain his absurd hand ball (it wasn't bent, I've never said it was; but he wasn't pushed either). For failing to mention our club at all in his first interview as an Everton player. For showing not the slightest interest in his old club since.

My allegiances are to Sheffield United, not Everton players.

The irony is you don't believe incendiary devices and football mix, yet here you are.

He's a busted flush at the top level but isn't he coming up 35? His legs are gone but as a steady hand at Championship level you could do a fuckload worse. Do I want him back? Not sure really but I'll leave that decision to Wilder because he knows a damn site more than all of us here.

Your disrespect of the footballer is bordering on ridiculous though and as usual when you go off the rails you do it properly.

My guess is you never played football at any level above Pitz kickaround because while on occasion you make a lot of sense your questioning of the handball incident tells me more about what you don't know than what you do.

McCabe and Jagielka are inextricably linked . Just like Chedwyn , the signing of Jags has already done and dusted and Wilder will just have to suck it up and tell us all it was ' ultimately ' his idea . I do wish KM would keep his sneck out of footballing matters

Why its his football club and frankly he can do what the fuck he wants.

No. I played good class amateur football. I wasn't good enough to get a bit of semi-pro cash in hand but I played with people who were.

What do you think I'm saying about the handball? I bet it's different to anything I've ever said.

I think you are saying that you cannot understand how or why he had his hand in that position as he hasn't been pushed. I think if you look at how off balance he was it is reasonable to suggest either contact was made (and oddly enough there are a pair of feet seen pretty much lodged in the base of his spine) or he was off balance for some other reason. He certainly didn't just lob his hand up there for shits and giggles.

Now, I chucked my boots in some time ago and am officially fat and shit with legs that made mutiny 10 years or so ago, but having played more games than I choose to remember in leagues varying from GT Sports to League 2 and in between mainly as a striker but I have filled in all over the shop in my younger days, I have seen this happen more than a few times. On occasion without a challenge anywhere near. It happens. Jagielka was just unlucky that as his hand involentarily shot up the ball hit it. Nothing more or less. I did it myself allbeit as a striker in the opposition box rather than giving away a penalty. Sometimes you fling yourself at a ball and just at the moment it is too late you realise you got it wrong, the wind took the ball or your foot slipped at the moment of take off. Your arms are generally what you use to either gain leverage or change course when in the air.

Also your haranguing of a player who was consistently one of our best not only that season but the ones previously is in my opinion over the top. You appear to know the game, you appear to have a preference for how it is played, hence you would appear to understand what a consistently good player Jags was. His performances for us were always (save a bit of a dip in around 2004/5 when it appeared we didn't know whether he was a right back, a centre half or a holding midfielder) highest calibre.

So he decided to out the minute we got relegated. Since then he has gone on to play consistently in the Premiership, be one of Englands better performers at centre half, captain his club and play in Europe. What exactly did he do wrong?

A lot of you sound like the kind of people who disown family members because they forget to send you a Christmas card.

How bullshit are cards anyway? Think about the concept. Just a money making scheme, they've got cards for fucking everything.

Fucking cards. Let's talk about this for a few pages.

Jags got a yellow card for the handball against Wigan.

Those who are expressing a concern that a former employee doesn't mention us, I think you are being a touch too sensitive.

Those who are fawning over a 35 year old Everton player long past his best are being a touch too Bladey.

I have played a fair bit of football in my time too and never, ever, ever, when jumping to head the ball, have my hands flown up in front of my head. Ever. Nor have I ever seen it. It can inadvertently hit your arm or hand at the side, you can misjudge a jump, be off balance and the ball can hit you when you are out of control, and in my experience strikers will often chance a hand or arm in the hope that the ref doesn't see it because they don't have much to lose really. None of that applies to jumping for a defensive header and have both arms come up unnaturally in front of your forehead.
I only have it in my memory and wish I could see it again, though I can't find it anywhere. Anyone?
Anyway, I'm with Pinchy in that he never explained it, which if it were me, that would be the first thing I would want to do if I cared at all about what I had just done and the consequences for the club I had an affinity for, and the speed with which he triggered the clause in his contract and buggered off means I want him back as much as Ch...... oh.

We were in the BLUT, I remember his hands hitting the Ball and thinking WTF !!

He must have been pushed, but still, why put yer hands up

I would bracket it as Stupid rather than malicious

...... alright, ..... fucking Stupid

Not one Blades player, including the now Everton player, complained of a push. Not even the shy, retiring Ol' Big Nose. Not buying that one.

One player could have explained it, but couldn't even pause briefly on his way to his new club.

Maybe people will remove their "I ❤️the Everton player" badges and take notice of that sound and sensible analysis. It's much the same as mine of course, but they never listen to me, because I tell the uncomfortable truth.

Nah, it's because you're an annoying twat.

>> lots of ;)s - only kidding, no infraction please.

Actually it's not just Jags, I get annoyed with all these updates on player such-and-such and how well he's doing since he left us. Who gives a fuck?!? It just makes us look like a tin pot non-league side when we follow (about two) players on their careers into the PL. I can't believe it happens at any other club of comparable size. Why do we do it?
I will make exceptions for players like Walker, who's heart is with us, but even then, I don't actually care how his team is doing.

Most notable comparison I can think of. Didn't Jack O'Connell do something a bit similar (by accident of course) again Millwall early on this season?

Of course, when I said "Nor have I ever seen it", I meant accidentally, or naturally. This photo makes Jags handball look discreet. Is the guy asking teacher if he can go to the toilet?

Strange because if you watch a Premier League season through you see it a couple of times a season. I'm not defending him because I want him back and I don't but all this "I tell the uncomfortable truth" crap either Pinchy. I just disagree with the analysis. I'll try and dig a couple out from YouTube if I get the chance but it's probably not important enough to either of us in all fairness. Just interested because for me it's not that uncommon an occurrence.

The only time I see it in the PL or other professional leagues in any way similar to Jag's handball is when it is either obviously deliberate or clever but still deliberate.
I would really love to believe that it was not deliberate, but find it very, very difficult. But this had been done on here before and you're right, it's not that important to me. I just don't want him back at the Lane (just in case ;))

Those who are fawning over a 35 year old Everton player long past his best are being a touch too Bladey.

I think it would be fair to say that the vast majority of Blades would support any decision Chris Wilder wishes to make. If he signs Jagielka or not then it's fine by me.

For those who wish to claim McCabe is the decision maker are being nothing more than mischief makers.

So we've got CHL with his keepnet filling up nicely and questions over Jags handball where no one will say it was deliberate but don't think there is any explanation for it.

When Jags reaches the same level of McEveley for inexplicable handballs let me know.

It most certainly was deliberate. That's why the ball was on the penalty spot!

Was it bent? No. Did the Everton player give a fuck beyond the final whistle. Sadly, not.

Talk to a qualified referee. It doesn't have to be deliberate to give a penalty.

It did then. Are you seriously suggesting he had no intention of handling the ball? Bladey madness!

Fuck the Everton player.

That's a clear and deliberate handball as well!
