I’d rather have one and a top drawer RCB

Sign both and we’d have an embarrassment of riches to choose from at the top of the pitch.

That said if there genuinely was another 15 million to play with i’d back wilder to to find a genuine alternative to fleck and Norwood and a right centre back with change to spare.

I know Wilder has said 4 more - id assume Osborn, Hendo, mousset and OM/NM would be the 4.

But I think he’s possibly be flexible if an opportunity came up to upgrade another position popped up.

I think there will possibly be at least one more signing we were anticipating on top of the 4 (DM, CM, RB, GK all options imo.)

I'd rather have them all, but we want players that play regularly, and feel a part of this very special team (team spirit and bonding, like no other) and this very special club, that CW (and AK) have brought back to the fans, where the players celebrate as much as the fans do, when the players are as excited at scoring as we are, like when we beat Northampton and the team came to the fans after the game and sang "Jack O'Connell's magic", or like at the end of the Stoke game, the final game of this season, where Egan led the team and the fans in the "Allez, Alllez, Allez" song.

You can't buy that.

A "band of brothers" team, that you believe would put their body on the line for CW/AK, SUFC, their team mates, the fans. Can you get that feeling being a big name signing but sitting on the bench most weeks?

Don't know the answer, and too much drinking at tram lines (since Friday afternoon) probably fogging up my thought process.

...till the final third. He does the rest of the game well though, so is a reasonable option as it stands. But as I said, I’d rather we invested in a top drawer RWB, at least to the level of Stevens.

I know it’s nowt new but if you combined baldock defensively with freeman’s attacking ability you’d have a £30m fullback on your hands.

Freeman looks to be fitter this year but I think we are going to need someone really solid defensively on the PL if we want to continue to be positive overall with the formation.

My concern is both are susceptible to injuries so we’d potentially be short at certain points in the season.

Fair point but we need another striker more than a RWB. Stevens was immense last year BTW.

I think you may have understood - I’m not talking about not signing a striker, but talking about what I’d prefer we did than sign a further 2 strikers with our resources (started by the post suggesting we might still sign both Maupay and McBurnie). Another striker is absolutely the priority. Cover for Stevens is the priority once that’s sorted. But rather than sign another further striker, I’d suggest there are other areas we could improve the first XI with some cash. This is all fairly meaningless, as I’m not expecting a RWB to come in as I think Wilder will stick with what we have.

As for a preference, it’s genuinely 50/50 for me. I can see powerful arguments both ways. Only real solution is to get both.

I’m similar, they both offer very different qualities.

I’d say Maupay is a better goal poacher then McBurnie, playing in a similar fashion to Sharp, so more likely to score goals (which could keep us up)
Also think Maupay has more class than McBurnie but not sure his personality fits our club as well as McBurnie.

However I’d say McBurnie has more versatility, has a better allround game with more potential to improve.
Also think he’s a player that you’d want fighting for you in the trenches so fits the team spirit better,

They are both a good age. Ideally would like both at some point...if not now then maybe in the January window or next season.

The problem I have is that a few months ago a fair valuation would be 10 million for either.
Now that the market has gone crazy a fair valuation is now nearer 15 million......but both Swansea and Brentford are hoping that a PL will be desperate enough
to be ripped off.....and I’m not comfortably paying massively over the odds for an untested player.

Buy one striker, preferably Mcburnie and buy Henderson with a minimum sell on and give Man Utd first option, I have no idea what it would cost £10 million? sell on clause £15million?

And another one.

Henderson is NOT FOR SALE and he DOESN'T WANT TO LEAVE Man U.

That clear enough?

Wow, can you put it in bold next time as well, tough lads in Maidenhead shouting at me like that, now FUCK OFF, that clear enough? Or would you like it in bold.

If you've been spending on drink at Tramlines then you should be able to fund a Mcburnie deal................
