If true we would have Duffy, Freeman, Robinson & Morrison all that play the attacking midfield role and to some extent McGoldrick. That seems a bit overloaded to me.

Personally see Morrison playing a bit deeper with the potential to break forward a bit like Fleck and Robinson to play more as a striker in our system. Could argue it being overloaded but it certainly would give us a lot of flexibility going forwards which is no bad thing in my eyes.

Maybe he thinks some other club will pay it if other clubs are interested. If we get McBurnie and Robinson that will do nicely up top I think, but I have to admit I think Maupay is the pick of forwards mentioned.

Update as of today. Robinson bid accepted now talking personal terms but don’t see too many problems with that one. Osborn nearly tied up too. Henderson sorted. Maupay hitting the rocks, as I said before, not really Brentford paying games but his agent. The agent wants £800k fee just for himself on top of the money to Brentford and the player. Suppose that’s the way it is these days and worse at the top. Maupay could even end up going to Bournemouth. We’re having a look at few other options, one of them being Lys Mousset.

I always suspected Maupay was probably a lot further off than the original “nearly done” post had suggested. I just don’t think you can pull off a signing like that under the radar without the Agent making lots of noise and / or dragging it out first.

I suspect Maupay will remain on the market and be snapped up last minute by someone that have got desperate around deadline day, the Agent will probably get his £800k from a team who don’t have to be quite as frugal as ourselves.

If nothing else hopefully this spells an end to the Brentford fans’ boring posts on this Forum.

By “we” you mean SUFC aka Wilder and Co. I really don’t see them being prepared to spunk moneh on agents fees. Nor would I expect or want them to.
