I think most people are more bored than desperate or panicking. Although, some of the player suggestions in this forum are a bit eye opening.

That's sub standard bullshitHow very Blades-like this all is!
Biggest chunk of money and biggest opportunity in the club's history and we're debating whether we should have a sub standard attack or sub standard defence. And as it stands, we're having both!
I’m still thinking that we’ll just bring in a couple of loans and maybe 4 perms. 2 for ‘big Blades’ money (£8-10m) and 2 for free/slash champ money (Freeman at £4m) and that will be us done.
It could potentially be a painful season to watch but hopefully by the end of it, and beginning of the next, the two owners who can’t really be involved with a Premier League team, will have sold on to owners who can afford to risk more money.
I’m sure Bash will bamboozle plenty of players with his runs forward !Geyooor man
Going to be a reight roller coaster ride with Wilder, I for one cannot see Sterling or Salah chasing JOC/Bash back to their own byelines.
I think we're quite a bit short of having a team with a shot of staying up
1 x GK
1 x LWB (cover)
1 x RWB
possibly 1 x LCB
1 x RCB
1 x CB (cover)
2 x CM (cover or starters)
1 x AMC
2 x ST
I think that's the least we need and it's making assumptions that we won't have a lot of injuries or suspensions and that everyone is capable of stepping up. I don't for one second think we'll have all those by the end of August. Maybe by the end of January. We don't really have any youth players who are ready to step up in a crisis so need to recruit for the worst case scenario.
Pace is a priority for me. Both in terms of acceleration and speed and how quickly we can move the ball. If we play the same way and build up slowly and overload we're going to get absolutely taken apart on the counter if we're not careful. I assume we won't play that way, but who knows.
Nope I’m with you. I’m also on holiday so FriethBlade is on a loser all ends up.Am I the only one who is totally relaxed and has absolute faith and confidence in our management team? #imnotpanicking
I think you'll be disappointed Robbie if you want that many players in. Stearman, Freeman and Lundstram remain so they're likely to cover be the centre back, right wing back and centre mid cover you speak of. We'll still need a right centre half and a LWB who possibly has to cover Joc too. We all can agree on up top and attacking mid of course.
Oh I don't think for one second we'll be able to sufficiently cover everything. I do expect to see 10 new players by February 2020, split between both windows.

As long as we get the key players up top and the attacking mid I reckon we'll be fine although not with injuries. I reckon we need 7 players but one of those is Hendo or another keeper and the Hendo deal seems likely, albeit that's taking much longer than I thought it would.
If we get Maupay and Freeman we'll cause teams problems going forward, even more so with McBurnie. We might sign several late on, that's the way it often goes.
It’s fine saying not with injuries - but they are likely to happen....
We got by by the skin of our teeth with a makeshift backline of cranie / stearman / Stephens. (With dowell at left back.)
That line up would be unlikely to cut in in the premier league and would almost certainly be punished - and we don’t even have the luxury of using 2 of those players this time around as they have left the club.
What happens if JOC is out for a month and Egan picks up a suspension? We’d be fucked and it could be the difference between staying up and going down.
I know wilder knows this..... but the clock is ticking. Be nice to see some movement on this to ease my fears. But agree, I expect we will have to be active right up until the deadline day
We need left side centre half cover for sure, two players for every position in theory. I totally agree we need more players and I'm pissed off and bored like everyone else but there's still 5 weeks to go and the majority of deals are usually done later in the month sadly. Last season we signed McGoldrick and Norwood late on so I'm not despairing yet - not saying you are don't get me wrong mate.
The thing is we should be able to cover everything sufficiently.... we’ve had a massive windfall. No one is asking for 11 new signings at £10 mil a pop. But the worry for me is we are cutting it fine to bring in cover for the people we’ve let go and with no youth behind them.
By my count we need 8
I don’t think lunstram is a premier league player but he is currently out only cover from both fleck and Norwood. An injury and suspension could easily happen and then we’re screwed in CM.
If we want to play a more defensive line up we don’t have a rcb if bash goes into midfield.
We can’t currently cover more than 1 injury at centre back.
We need at least 2 forwards and cover for Duffy.
We’ve no experienced second choice keeper.
We’ve no alternative left back.
We know both baldock and Freeman can’t stay fit for extended periods of time.
I know we have time left but I’ve visions of us barely being able to put out an 11 in proper positions with injuries and suspensions. We got lucky in the run in with cranie and players out of position, that’s not gonna fly in the PL.
I don't see the panic yet. If we don't get anyone in this week, then I might start as that'll start to encroach on our friendlies. In terms of signings, I'd suspect any backup players (mainly defensive I suspect) will likely be the last in. I'm sure Chris is focusing on get the top targets in first as they're likely to be the most sough after elsewhere and complex to finalise.
DoneCorrect me if im wrong but isn't there only 6 weeks left of the transfer window?
Agree we’re gonna need a couple in every position or to be clever and sign versatile players who can cover a number of positions...
I’ll be honest I’m despairing a little bit lol. I’d feel a lot happier if we wrap up say freeman, hendo and one of the key strikers this week.
It would feel like we’re at least at the races that way....
Well it looks like Freeman is any minute, probably Hendo not far off, but who knows on the forward. If Richard Cadette's right then Maupay soon hopefully.
