Outgoing? Mousset?

We saw in glimpses what he could do, pouncing on that ball at Wolves, away, within the first five minutes, running onto Lunny's ball at Everton away and that run towards goal at BDTBL, with three Man Utd defenders closing in on him, to get his shot off and score.

Until recently he seemed a happy, smiley lad, so whether it is (as some have said) issues in his personal life, or if it is his agent trying to turn his head, saying he is being underpaid, I don't know.

Shame though, if it all ends here, he came to us as an unknown package (for me at least) and quickly became an exciting player, big, strong and fast. Not sure where the next one like that comes from.

As with most on here, I've loved watching the Moose when he's on his game. Given me some of the best moments of what has been a fantastic season. Just would have liked to see more.

Zivkovic could be the biggest winner of all this. May have a life line if we don't have oodles of money to play with and CWAK decide to move on.

I like that Ikone is responding to his social medias maybe Lys can tap him up for us 👀 👀

Clearly back on the continent, I just don’t get Instagram. I was expecting some pics of his missus, new baby, all the things He’s Missed that have contributed to him being off his games during the last 7 months.
Instead he’s bombing about somewhere with his mates listening to shit music and waving his hands about.

Sorry guys, this lads heads not in it. He’s not committed enough to his football to make the most of what he could be. He’s clearly not a natural athlete who can do what he wants and still be slim and fit. I dread to think what state he might come back if he comes back at all.

If Wilder sticks with him I will be amazed. Best we can hope is some French club picks his wages up. I certainly don’t see another English club coming in for him.

Don't think I can forgive him for waving his hands about

I have similar feelings to the above.

Seems more interested in showing off his clothes, car etc. on insta, driving his (slightly odd - to my eyes) mates around in the lambo all the time.

I too would have been hoping to see him keep a low profile whilst he settles into Fatherhood.

I'm just not sure it's ever going to click with him.

What an idiot. What does it matter what car be drives? I would assume that the other young lads in the sqaud also drive flash cars.
I can see what the reporter is saying though, we have lower profile, harder working, white collar players, lys is a premier league product not a battle scarred football league player.

is it wilder not knowing how to manage these ‘prodigies’ or only accepting 100% ‘commitment’ players.

Our venn diagram will ultimately have to shift towards the former I reckon?

I might be wrong but im not sure we can pick the best talent from the championship/league 1 forever?

Takes the piss how some of the dinosaurs that follow our club always have to bash the lad for driving a Lamborghini.

So bloody what if he drives one i couldn't care less if he rolled up to bramall lane dressed as the godfather in a rolls royce phantom from all the pics and videos I saw of him he always looked a big part of the team and always smiling and happy when I saw him.

He is a young lad away from home dealing with a lot of pressures just because he has a lot of money doesn't mean he is immune from issues off the field and suffering mentally.

I think the lad has come in for a lot of unfair criticism and a lot of stick from so called fans and journalists who jump to conclusions and put two and two together.

I hope the lad comes back next season and really sticks two fingers up to all of you that doubt him UTB.

Why would we sell a pacy explosive striker to sign the exact same type of player

If moose can’t get over his personal/fitness issues before Christmas next season then sell him.

If he does we’ve got a £30/40 million theres no point in selling him when we’re gonna have to fork out another £20 mill for another striker like moose

For the people who matter, his car and attire mean nothing. IF they have a problem with the lad it goes a bit deeper than that. Fan waffle and pundit bollocks will play no part in any decisions made by the management.

The lad lost his mate and his brother then had to watch his son be born while stuck in the UK

Daft how much some people need a scapegoat

How dare he drive around in anything other than a 03 Citroen Saxo while he’s on the top side of £20,000 a week. Disgrace to the club. Gerrimout.

I didn't know any of this until the other day it is tragic that to say the least and just goes to show how clueless and heartless some people are not mention brainless.

The poor lad must have been going through sheer hell with all of what he has been through talk about an emotional roller coaster.

I love the Moose and hope he comes back strong next season UTB

Mousset explained: “If I was less decisive at a certain point, it’s because I wasn’t great in my head. Because I didn’t play a lot for three years at Bournemouth, I fell victim to small injuries to my knee, my Achilles”.

As for his future, the forward is pretty sure he’ll be continuing next season at Sheffield United: “I think so yes. Either way, I’m happy over there”.

Not a huge amount of detail, but a small indication that he could well be here next season. Personally, I would love to see him stay, get his head down, work hard and get back to the form that we've seen.

He's had a rough year. The fitness thing is a worry, but the more strikers we can keep, the easier it will be for the new lads to integrate.

Outside of some intelligent additions, getting Sander and Lys happy, healthy and fit has to be a priority?

He has the potential to be a £30-40m striker and I have no concerns over his long term ability or his commitment. Everyone goes through a tough time at some point. The lad obvious my just needed some time away with his family. Good luck to him and CW doesn’t seem concerned.

He will be back next season and hopefully better. We need him.

I think that's what all of us want him to do.
I'm sure he would be the first one to admit he has not pulled his weight since xmas.
Ok he's young but at 23 should be able to cope with lifestyle set backs.
Majority of people have traumer in there early 20's of some level or other.
That video of him revelling with his pals and considering he's just become a father doesn't do him any favours at all.

A quote from an interview with Wilder just before lockdown:

"We think an awful lot about Lys as a player and a person and I think that when that supporter is stood there at 3 O'Clock having a pop about this, that and the other there's underlying issues that has sometimes happened in a players' life whether it's me putting a sub on or a tactical situation or whether it's players being left out of a squad.
I am not going to say to the press on a Thursday that he's having an issue with that, he's having an issue with this and he's having bother at home with his missus, all these things that happen to people and players because players are human beings.
He's had some really tough times, but he has the support of myself and the staff, the players and, most importantly, I am sure the supporters of Sheffield United."

Quite different from his usual no-nonsense approach - he clearly has a soft spot for the lad.

Stick and the carrot situation.
Everyone is different, has different needs and responds in different ways.

Indeed. Hitting everyone with the same stick does not work in management. We all need different motivation factors. Throw in the difficulties outside work, off the pitch, within personal lives and things change.
Lys sounds like he needs an alternative, more understanding approach in order to achieve his full potential.
In short, some need a kick, some need a carrot and others need a cuddle! And that’s why CW is a top class manager.
