Wilder knows his players. Remember his criticism of Hendo after the Liverpool blunder? Seemed harsh but he deemed that it was needed, and it made Hendo even better.

Hopefully, this is the case with Mousse and he kicks on again.

If not, and he is offloaded before next season, then I still think he has been a worthwhile purchase, who has given us some wonderful moments. His time with us may end up being short, but I like to think that we would all remember him fondly.
 
Wilder says at the end of the interview Fleck, Lundstram and Freeman Luke could be out for two weeks!

Expect them starting at the weekend then. When someone says “I’m not playing games with people” it might be a bluff.
 
Moose, two observations:

1. He's a right mard arse.
2. He's looking a bit chunky.

But there's a player in there!

Sorry, who are these presumptious people? Are you saying he scored but didn’t play well?
 
Anyone else get the feeling he’s really been struggling with life outside of football. His initial celebration was very muted and then just about every player came up and gave him a heartfelt embrace. Also a lot of looking to the heavens afterwards.
Hope the lad’s ok and know he’s suffered some loss during the past few months.
Maybe I’m projecting and he just had a moody game-face on.
Great 30mins though - well done Moose

He did lose a friend Nathael Julan in January. He has had a pretty bad year or so with people passing away.

Another sad loss for Mousset

Lost a good pal, according to his Instagram he seems to be anyway. Nathael Julan, who played for Guingamp. Played with Mousset at Le Harve. 23 years of age, and has died in a car crash. Such a shame, no age to lose your life. Chin up Lys, seems to have a had a shit time of it with losing...

I noticed at one point, not long after he came on, he chased down a ball against Sanchez on the far touchline and the throw didn't go our way. He started waving his arms about, then got a bollocking from one of our lot to get on with it (presumably) and proceeded to flap his arms at them too. All the while, the play had moved on and the rest were closing down.

I assume his prime candidate for the comments about arm waving, from Wilder, the other week. He needs to not sweat the small stuff and bust a bollock as soon as things have moved on. It's a throw in, it's gone, crack on.

Contrast that to the end and where he sprinted half the field to win the ball from Sanchez? That's more like it. Fantastic!

He's defo lost a yard of pace and always seems to look knackered, his fitness has defo taken a big hit over lockdown?

Now he's scored I hope he picks up a bit, cos we really can't afford to lose anymore players, and he's not exactly set the world alight since the man u game really??

You're correct in your observation, but the more concerning thing for me is that I think he's being instructed to not close down to conserve energy for big moments.
This is a 23 Yr old Premier League footballer. He needs a big pre-season. He was superb for a run of games around October last season, so we know he's got it in him.

Agree....don’t mind McBurnie at all.
Most people are judging him on his quality.....which seems to be nearer Champiomship standard than PL standard
but he really is an allround striker capable of everything...he can drop deep, decent at passing, good hold up play playing as target man, decent in the air and a decent finisher. However his biggest asset is his winning attitude and workrate.

His style and on pitch demeanor has similarities to Steve Claridge.
McBurnie and Claridge look so ungainly and untidy. They both actually look uncomfortable on the ball (as though they aren’t pro footballers)
and both even look uncomfortable/ ungainly when running without the ball.

Another asset which Wilder gives so much importance is attitude, personality and leadership.
This is massively important in the dressing room because that positive energy becomes infectious.

The arm waving comments were after Newcastle weren’t they? I don’t know who Wilder was referring to but doubt it was Mousset unless he had a particularly grumpy demeanour while sat in the stands all game :)
 
Well looking at his instagram stories he's in france. hope they're old vids.
 
Old moose , I think he goes around to the back of the bike sheds for a quick fag while everyone else is training, always looks fucked . Be a reght player if he could find consistency, but I don’t think he ever will , always be a bit part player .

Videos of Le Havre fans celebrating something by the looks of it. Maybe it's an anniversary. Couple with football shirts and blue flares, no masks at all so pretty much rules it out, because surely someone would be wearing one, so I'm saying old.

I hadn't thought of the Steve Claridge comparison but it's a very good one .

From the outset , I've never given up on McB and if he becomes as effective as him at scoring goals , providing assists and being an all round pain in the arse for defenders , I'll settle for that .

It's the passion he shows as well. All of our players bust a gut but there are only a few who really wear their hearts on their sleeves. Baldock is one, Billy (of course) is another, Hendo too, Bash occasionally, and the we have McB. Their reactions, in particular, when we score are a joy to watch.
 
Promising news from the presser today - back on the grass and could be as little as three weeks away.

More probably the start of Dec.

Fingers crossed he can rediscover his early form for us as it’s a threat we have lacked and he was our top scorer and assister in a bit part season for him.

Very promising, considering last week where (I am sure) Wilder said Mousse would be back on the grass in 4-5 weeks?

I do hope that Wilder is shithousing us a bit over JOC too, and we may see him back before the end of the season. Yes I am clutching at straws on that one!
