Mousset

The issue with Mousset isn’t his weight it’s his fitness. His fitness requirements are different to Bashams who seemingly can just run all day.

Mousset is short sprints and how many of them he can do. Against Man U he looked like he could do it all day.

Then he came on against Everton (scored) but looking the most tired on the pitch. Hopefully it all clicks for him.

I know we're having a laugh & joke about it, but it is a tad worrying that a professional athlete looks in better shape after having 3 months off from full daily training at his place of work (allegedly/possibly due to the fact that take aways have been closed during the same period). If this is the case, then a conversation needs to be had. A serious conversation.

Think people need to remember he lost his brother and one of his best mates if that ain’t enough to turn you to a few Mac Donald’s and KFC’S i don’t know what is hopefully he’s got fitter then we won’t need to spend 20 mill again on a striker

Hopefully when he looks in the mirror and sees the improvements that will give him enough motivation to keep his diet under control.

I hope the fitness staff are absolutely all over him more than with any other player - he needs the attention most, and there's the most benefit to be gained with him.

So then..... any reason why Wilder only gave him 10 fucking minutes when we were providing absolutely zero threat?

Have to agree. It was crying out for Moose to be brought on after 60 mins. Needed his pace and power to make it uncomfortable for their back four. They had it too easy tonight as Utd's midfield just didn't function tonight.

McBurnie gets minutes no matter what.

Mousset seems to need a 10 minute hat-trick before he gets any sort of chance.

I would say Moose needs to stop moaning when he doesn't get a ball exactly where he wants it before getting a first team spot.

Mousset must be honking in training because he’s our most naturally talented forward, gives us an edge no one else can provide

Billy and McBurnie are more reliant on service than Moose is, as they have different qualities to him and he is more about pace and power. You couldn't blame any of the Utd forwards tonight as they just didn't have the service.

Thought CW would put Moose on earlier than he did, but he must have had his reasons.

I felt that Mousset on at the 60 min mark would have been a good bet. Billy & McBurnie offered little and the way the game went, our only hope was someone who could create themselves - hence Lys.

I don't see how McBurnie gets the nod ahead of either Didzy or Moose. I think both can offer more at this time.

His right leg was heavily strapped up with K-Tape when he came on... I guess that’s a contributory factor...

Wouldn’t be upset at McG and Mousset v Newcastle.
We’ve gotta play didzy against Newcastle - if they sit deep like they did at the Lane we’ll need him to unlock the defence. I’d start him with Sharp and give Moose last half hour to stretch out a tired defence

It is.

We shouldn't forget just how brilliant he was looking previously. Like nothing we've ever had before.

I hope he realises what extraordinary gifts he has. There's no way he should allow himself to be anything but our main striker.
Absolutely

Hopefully that's the reason.

Anything else and it's disappointing, and appears Wilder was very content to settle for a draw.

When Moose is on the pitch, he naturally makes the defence sit deeper due to the threat of his pace, giving us more room to play in. The problem with Moose that he feels that if he doesn’t score in a 10 minute cameo, his confidence is shot. Maybe needs a regular trip to a Sports Psychologist

We looked lightweight in midfield tonight without Fleck. McGoldrick provides that crucial link between midfield and attack, which we miss from last season with Duffy in that attacking midfielder role.

McGoldrick and Moose to start Sunday for me.

Wilder made a point of saying "Mousset needs to turn up more often like everyone else does, there's a reason I don't put him on every week."

Made his feelings pretty clear there.
Where did he say that? Fancy a watch/ listen

It was clear his work rate was lacking again.

Of course, people see he scored and presume that means he played well.....
When McBurnie, Osborn and Stevens deserve far more credit for that goal.

McBurnie's workrate was still higher than Mousset's in the 90th, despite playing the whole game.

Yeah, there's no way Wilder would single him out in the midst of praising a brilliant performance against Spurs if he wasn't very pissed off at him. Hope it kicks him into gear!
