His standards have slipped in the last month. Ball control, aggression, finishing, alertness, all round sharpness.... he just hasn't been the same.

I know he's had a difficult time personally. Maybe that explains a lot.

But I hope he hasn't become complacent, thinking he's 'made it'. Because given his attributes, he shouldn't have even got started yet.

I hope it doesn't take a run of games on the bench to give him a kick up the arse but if he doesn't improve that's what might be needed.

And I wish he'd learn to head the ball, FFS. Would've had goals today and at Man City if he could.

Can be a top player if he switches on.

Agree with some of that, he looked good agaisnt West Ham tbf and even against Manchester city he looked dangerous. Like you say he can be a top player and it is frustrating he seemingly can't contribute his best for a big chunk of a game.

I wish we’d had him to come on for the last 25 minutes today, if you get what I mean? If McGoldrick wasn't injured and it had been him and McBurnie starting, with Moose as impact sub, then I reckon we’d have won it.

But there lies the problem- its nearly February and he’s still not fit. He should be playing impactful 80/90m regularly by now; McGoldrick does it, and he’s ten years older.

He maybe 23 but is very inexperienced and I would say a bit nieve.
Patience is needed at this time , he will recover his sharpness and his unpredictability makes him difficult to mark when he,s at it.

You should always play your best players.... but I agree, right now he is probably best coming off the bench at the 60min mark.

He has definitely lost a bit of sharpness, he seems a bit distracted. His heart is still in it, he's just lacking a bit of concentration.

He`s been having trouble with the lambo apparently .

He certainly needs some serious financial advice regarding his future after football. That stupid orange car probably costs him twenty grand a year just to insure.

I think this is a big part of it.

He’s 23 and a Premier League footballer, so he will have been wrapped in cotton wool to a certain extent by whoever is handling his career.

But the death of someone close is something you can’t hide from. He may be struggling with emotions he hasn’t felt before.

I agree with all the comments about using him as an impact sub. In the harsh world of reality, he’s a business asset and should be used to bring the club the best possible return for their investment.

But he’s also a bloke, and has the same feelings as any other bloke, so give him time to condition his mind and body before being overly critical.

He’s starting to remind me of an impact player from the bench. Which at the current rate I can see happening.

I think he's just a bit out of steam to. Still a work in progress, just like Robinson and McBurnie are

Not saying Moose is going to be 'great' or anything else, but I think we need to consider the Lunny factor with any player that shows glimpses of brilliance like Moose has. Imagine what a preseason akin to Lunny had this season for the likes of Moose, Robinson and McBurnie. I know Lunny has gone slightly off the boil recently, but that doesn't diminish his quality during the first half of the season.

If our young forwards can come back next season in the physical and MENTAL shape Lunny did last August, after essentially being a non-feature last season, then there's genuine, real quality on the horizon. Unfortunately that doesn't solve the immediate issue of Moose's apparent lack of fitness.

A few games back he was going past players lightning fast, he's dropped a bit of pace as well as the little magic touches.
Sure it'll come back after a bit of a rest. I didn't know about his personal loss, that affects peoplenin different ways. He'll be back on form soon.

Mousse needs to learn how to head the ball. He’s poor in the air and has missed quite a few good heading chances including early on yesterday. He did get plenty of power on the header but needed to hit the target.

To be fair I think he’s alreet. Not many preform at this level week in week out. I agree with OP about him being more switched on. He looks a little reactive rather than being positive and dictating the play. Either way we are a better club for having this lad and hopefully he will settle in to the team and start putting a full 90 minutes in soon

When will he receive the ultimate insult and be removed as your 'profile picture'? 😃

He needs to sharpen up he has so much potential to be excellent at this level. Missed Mcgoldricks creativity today.
Anyone got McGoldrick's goal involvement stats ? He has assisted directly with two goals but surely he must have been involved in more than that ? Or is he not as creative as we think?

Bit harsh some the criticism of him , he’s had some personal problems in his life & and has being carrying a few niggling injuries . Moose along with McBurnie & Robinson are still young players , give them a bit more time before making your judgement

Don't know, but generally we've done a bit better with him starting. The three cup games, 2W, 1D, (started in none) are included in this:

Does anyone else think Moose could do with losing half a stone?

I can’t be right because if he did, the club would’ve sorted it by now, it’s just that he looks to me like he’s carrying a bit too much timber

It looks like there's a lot of truth in him being the laziest at training, seems to have lost interest lately?

When Mcburnie and Robinson were being asked questions, their answer to who's the worst trainer at the club was Moose. This to me is the cause of his fitness problems. He's a talented boy, but seems so laid back he's horizontal. If Wilder can get some fire in his belly, then we will have one hell of a player on our hands. It's a big if though.

Arguably the toughest month in our season and people start to criticise one of the shining lights in our team for his last months performance ffs

Does need some heading practice with McB

They dont tell all the facts those stats really ,Coutts had very few assists ,I think Jamal Blackman had more ,but he was the catalyst behind almost everything we produced.

I think he looks pretty ripped to be honest when I seen a pic on insta. It has just been Xmas and New Years though - maybe he was enjoying the Yorkshire puddings too much
