1984?I’m 100% positive it was a midweek evening game Silent - and not the Jocks. Where would this information be sourced ?
1984?
Maybe you were thinking of England Youth v Spain in 1972. I was there too. Steve Cammack played and scored in the 4-1 win.
Paddy Kenny to the left of FF and Hendo middle row far right.Fatty Foulke has a look of Harry Maguire about him, are they by any chance related?
I'll have a go at line up, back row LtoR Nish, Clements, Latchford, McFarland, Storey?, Todd, Brooking. Front row LtoR ? begins with T-Man City, Bell, Bowles, ?
Clements
Ta SB, speling was never a strong point, then again I wonder what is.Clemence
Thank you, Tueart spot on and Martin Dobson what a player he was and is that Storey (Arsenal) do you know?Dennis Tueart.
Oh, and Martin Dobson (Burnley/Everton) for the question mark on the front row.

I can vaguely remember it was like as you described.Silent Blade
I was there. Memory can play tricks. I "seem to remember" there was a bizarre goal. Spain scored. Started celebrating. But it was disallowed. They all sprinted to surround the ref. It got messy. England eventually took the free kick. Ref waved "play on', still surrounded by the massed Spanish ranks. England moved it forward & scored unopposed. Cue even more histrionics. All the Spanish players eventually withdrew from the pitch to the dugouts on the John St side. They took some right old persuading to come back and finish the game.
I can't have invented all that. Surely? Anyone?
Not quite what you're asking, but IIRC we had more players at the 94 World Cup (no Ingerland), than any other Premier team (Kelly / Flo / Nilsen)
English club representation at the '94 World Cup:I think Villa had more (Staunton/Houghton/Townsend/McGrath)
English club representation at the '94 World Cup:
4 - Villa
3 - Chelsea, Blades
2 - Blackburn, Coventry, Forest, Liverpool, Man U, Man C, Wednesday
1 - Arsenal, Bolton, Derby, Everton, Ipswich, Leeds, Luton, Norwich, Oldham, Portsmouth, Swindon, Tottenham, Tranmere, Wolves
AldridgeName the tranmere player?
I can definitely remember a under 21s or 23s game v Spain 1980 or 81 maybe, can't think there was a utd player in side, sure Kevin Reeves played was a young star striker at that time went from Norwich to man City. Got programme in loft somewhere.I can vaguely remember it was like as you described.
