Cheerful twaddle
Nor Hereford, 2 seasons, all 4 games were draws, could have been worse. We have never lost a league game at home to Rochdale, Exeter, Bradford Park Avenue or Stockport

Just went on teams we've played at least 10 times/5 seasonsWe have never lost a league game at home to Rochdale, Exeter, Bradford Park Avenue or Stockport
Nor Hereford either, but all four league games, H and A against them ended in draws, so could have been worse.
Aye, that's the one I was thinking of, cheers.
As I recall they beat us with one of those long range goals that we seemed to concede with alarming regularity in that era.

Though they were something of a bogey team

The domination we have over Peterborough is a bit ridiculous. Played the 14 times in 40 years. Won 10, drawn 1 only lost 3. Average score 2.07 - 0.71There are some real oddities once you start digging into this. Our failure to ever win a league game at Bristol Rovers was called out by Carlton Blade earlier but it's one of a number like that:
Swindon Town: won 13/17 at home, lost 8/17 away
Lincoln City: won 8/10 at home, lost 6/10 away
Newcastle United: won 37/59 at home, lost 34/59 away
Bolton Wanderers: won 35/57 at home, lost 35/57 away.
Burnley have only won 5 of the 57 league games they've played against us at the Lane but back in Burnley they've won 33/56.
My first thought was Preston, over the last 20 years we must have played them the most.Preston are the team we've played most since I started my website in 2014. 13 times we will have played them in 9 years by the end of the season
They don't exist anymore of course.Nor Hereford either, but all four league games, H and A against them ended in draws, so could have been worse.

I’m guessing the first one was the Watney Cup when TC got sent off? I was there for that one, local to where I was brought up.I have seen us beat Peterborough 4-0, 4-0, 4-0 and 6-2
We've spent 15 of the last 20 seasons in the same division as Preston. The only time we've been apart are our three Premier League seasons and when they finally beat their play-off curse in 2015 allowing them to get back to the Championship two seasons before we did. Nobody else will come close at a guess. Bristol City at 12/20 is probably up there. My first thought was Preston, over the last 20 years we must have played them the most.

Millwall must be close too? Adding in a couple of games against them in the cup we’ve played them 23 times in the last 20 years. We've spent 15 of the last 20 seasons in the same division as Preston. Don’t like that W/L sequence LWLWLWLW………… with WB game upcomingThese are the games against West Brom (I couldn't easily filter out the League Cup game), and of course we play them again in a couple of weeks or so.

First team I thought of was Preston. Gonna be some mainstay in the Championship - them or Millwall.Preston are the team we've played most since I started my website in 2014. 13 times we will have played them in 9 years by the end of the season
Random Stats Question:
Which team or teams have we played the most in the League over, say, the last 5 years, 10 years, 20 years, etc?
(Is there any relatively quick way of finding this out. I tried 11v11, it looks like all the info is on there but not in any readily usable format.)

Last time we played these teams in competitive games:I've done the maths. Over the last 20 seasons:
Preston 15
Coventry 14
Reading 11
Cardiff , Millwall , Watford, QPR, Bristol City , all on 10.
We've played 85 teams in that period. Least is Wimbledon (old) , Wycombe, Exeter, Oxford, AFC Wimbledon, Bristol Rovers and Northampton on 1 season
Of clubs who have been in the league in those 20 years, we haven't played in the league Cambridge* , Chester, Macclesfield*, Barrow, Torquay*, Darlington, Cheltenham, Barnet*, Sutton, Dagenham, Salford, Aldershot, Hereford, Kidderminster, Grimsby ,Accrington, Morecambe , Lincoln, Boston* , Rushden, York, Mansfield*,, Halifax, Wrexham* , Newport, Forest Green. Harrogate, Scarborough.
* = played in the cup.
Literally sums life up as a bladePreston are the team we've played most since I started my website in 2014. 13 times we will have played them in 9 years by the end of the season
I completely forgot about Coventry. Easily done, I suppose.I've done the maths. Over the last 20 seasons:
