The Blades have handed themselves a double boost by extending the contracts of both Chris Morgan and Stephen Quinn.

Skipper Morgan, due to make his 250th league and cup start for United on Saturday, and the combative, impish Quinn have been virtually ever-present all season - barring injury and suspension - but their existing deals were due to expire in the summer.

But the Club has exercised its option to trigger another year and the duo are now tied to the Blades until the summer of 2011.

Well beyond our budget :(

Least it didn't say 'orc'ish Morgan'.

I still miss the 'fairylike Cotterill' :(

That is a bit of an insult not giving Morgs a longer contract, which means we'll be in the same position next year.

Also, which has already been mentioned, Monty?

bit of an insult to Morgs, only giving him 12 months, he's the rock of the team and rarely puts in a poor performance

He'll be 34 when that contract expires, and I'm sure he'll understand we can't afford to sign older players to longer contracts like that, because it's a big risk.

I think it's a sensible move. If he's still going as strong this time next season, give him another 12 month extension.

KB has said Monty's contract discussions have been held up because he has the same agent as killa so they havent been able to talk about Monty while the agent has been dealing with the Killa situation

So talks should start again now

As for Morgs only getting a year as far as i understand its a contract extension not a new contract and the length of the extension would have been written in the original contract
