It's about risk vs reward.
Risk - Him leaving on a free
Risk - Him getting a long term injury

Reward - Cashing in with add-ons pure cash value non of this loan and we will see bollocks. Pure cash in the pocket.
Reward - New 5 year deal becomes better player and attracts talent.

Under McCabe he would have been sold at the first opportunity to put money in the bank. It depends on the new owner if applicable and how they want to play the game. Is it worth the value of potentially 4 unknowns?

Realistically before we got linked how many people were tracking Anel Ahmedhodžić's career, we reportedly signed him for up to £4million at the time I thought it was a huge risk, granted not yet fully tested in the Premiership but does seem good value.

Could it be the case we look to cash in whilst we can and reinvest by bringing players in from the Swedish/Danish or perhaps even French/German Market. Although be not ideal to lose him he could be replaced with 5 players in theory if you look at potential value. Same goes for Berge too.

There’s more chance of shitting gold than MGW returning.

He’s in a totally different stratosphere to where we’ll be shopping.

A potential fee of 42.5 million with a salary probably 2/3 time what our highest premier league earners were on.

No fucking chance.

And after that semi and their fans he chose to join Forest so fuck him.

Living in cloud cuckoo land if anyone thinks it’s even a remote possibility.

Incorrect, I've heard dozy is lending us 40m to buy him.

So 50/50 then ?

Things would look quite rosy at The Lane at the moment if the EFL didnt keep dragging its arse, i can understand all the due diligence shit but i just feel they (EFL) are making it more uncomfortable than need to.

I thought we’d got a transfer embargo until the end of next season - so no MGW. We’ll be shopping for out-of-contract players at home or abroad or loanees.
We haven't got a transfer embargo until the end of next season unless we don’t pay the amounts we currently owe which have brought us the current embargo.
Until we pay what is owed, the current embargo continues

Does that only count if were not promoted ???

I thought the debt had to be paid within the 30 days of the embargo starting for it to be released before the end of next season. The debt wasn’t paid so the embargo carries on till the end of next season. I hope I’m wrong - no doubt somebody will know the answer?

not if we get promoted to the premier league and to have any chance of staying up we need at least 8 good players and minimum of 100m to get em

No.

The embargo may be extended to a set number of transfer windows if the EFL feels the offending club is not trying to sort the debt out or trying to get the embargo lifted by underhand or deceitful means.
(I think words to that effect are in the relevant sections of the rules)

If I had the choice of MGW back or one of the Man City lads…I take one of the latter in a heartbeat. MGW’s fancy flicks did my head in last season.
All my mates who support Forest were over the moon to have him and took piss royally. I said his flicks and tricks are OK in championship and look good but will get punished up in prem. Iv been asked what the problem is with him and I said I reckon he's better behind a front two not part of the front two and don't even start with his penalties fucking stupid

This is bang on, the premiership is all about retaining the ball. Forest fans have picked up on this and are not happy with MGW. Especially in a side struggling to win games, when you eventually get hold of the ball you can't give it away cheaply.

Sounds nowt but salty this pal, lads a reyt player
Ok, I’ve not watched MGW this season and yes he’s was our best player last term. But I think Tommy Doyle is possibly the best loan player we’ve had in a long, long time, and he gets better every game…McAtee ain’t far behind him either.
