The natives aint happy. I think we should all email our approval.

Planning reference is 13/00837/FUL if direct link doesn't work.

This isn't new is it? I'm sure this was raised about 6 months ago? Is it extra?

UTB

Yes it's new. The already approved scheme was the corner of Shoreham and John Street.

What does this do for potential future ground expansion when we get to the champions league?

Before KM buys it for £1?

Thanks John Denver,

The scheme may pass second-year undergrad at Sheffield University School of Architecture, possibly with a low 'C', but these drawings have September re-sit all over them. As highlighted in the responses to date, its all about CONTEXT. You must show the context in all your drawings otherwise they are fairly pointless.

It is very uninspiring to be sure and quite out of keeping with sporting spirit, its style a sort of feeble 1980s 'historicism?' the mansard roof some recollection of Paris? What the stadium needs is a solid, believable, forward thinking masterplan and yes, I fear it may well get in the way of future development.

Of all the locations on the site I guess the old Bowling Green at the corner of Cherry and Shoreham Streets is the least intrusive on the stadium but you can't tell without showing the stands, other houses etc. etc. on all the drawings and NOR CAN THE ARCHITECTS. (I have to say I can't be arsed visiting the planning permission website as I try to avoid potential bouts of clinical depression, at least until the football season starts)

I guess its over to Presty now?!....

Whilst this isnt my work personally, it was done by the practice I work for and I am currently doing some other bits for SUFC so count me out of this debate. Unlike some, I'm aware of the RIBA code of conduct. ;)

"Yes, well, of course, this is just the sort blinkered philistine pig ignorance I've come to expect from you non-creative garbage. You sit there on your loathsome, spotty behinds squeezing blackheads, not caring a tinker's cuss about the struggling artist. You excrement! You lousy hypocritical whining toadies with your lousy colour TV sets and your Tony Jacklin golf clubs and your bleeding masonic handshakes! You wouldn't let me join, would you, you blackballing bastards. Well I wouldn't become a freemason now if you went down on your lousy, stinking, purulent knees and begged me...."

:D

This is an older one that was floating about but I'm not exactly sure if that's supposed to be the kop in the background or the back of McCabe's retail park which replaces it...

I do like the way these architectural drawings always include people milling about aimlessly on the pavement.
Presumably the new building will have some sort of taxi rank directly outside it?

If you drive through Sharrow in the day, there are normally a few youths kicking about. But go past the pharmacy on London road theres always drunks/ druggies hanging around with cans of kestrel.

Seems like this is an accurate representation.

Scheme given the go ahead this afternoon by the Planning Committee.

Lets hope this is the last of this sort of short sighted piecemeal development to gain planning permission at the Lane.

Because I would have thought a Saudi Prince would not have anything to do with this sort of outmoded sub-optimal rot.

As I said many months ago; It'll just get in the way, create ownership problems and kibosh future development of a more progressive, profitable nature.

Nothing personal Presty, I'm sure you weren't personally responsible.

Not till The Family have wrung every last penny out of the site. It's what they think they're owed. It's what they think they deserve.
