The fact that past it Scottish premiership players tend to go to that league suggests the level isn't great. If Monty wants to get a job in England he'd likely have to start in league one. Champions league of Asia next for him

Jay O’Shea is playing out here still for the Brisbane Roar…I’ve been to a couple games this year. Standard isn’t great but the countries sporting culture gets swallowed up with AFL or NRL depending where you are based

You should know that given the level of coaching you work in. Unlike you I operate at a far lower level. I run the spot the ball tickets, the half time raffle, the tuck shop and wash the kit.

Hard to say,balance between what he's achieved and how much support he gets from the board this summer,to be fair if Nick Montgomery was suddenly appointed tomorrow how many games would you give him?
Being in charge of a football club when it comes to hiring and firing isn't easy, I suppose it comes down to realistic expectations

Postecoglou got the Celtic job having only managed in Australia and Asia, i don’t think it’s so much about standard, but more about depth of experience and track record

So far monty’s done an incredible job… if he can repeat that somewhere else (even if it’s in australia again) i don’t see why we wouldnt go for him

Ok, I feel that's a bit poor fallows but it's your opinion of course, his squad was one of the best no doubts but that still doesn't guarantee a top two finish, I think he and Jack and Macca deserve a lot of credit considering the shocking injuries we had and the turmoil behind the scenes, I think he deserves a chance and our support, but that's just my opinion !

I’d say it’s all about footballing philosophy and flavour of the month he has got both to be fair

Why should postecoglu get the spurs job and not say Brendan rodgers ? Rodger’s has done far more than him

It’s the reason hecky wasn’t courted for the Southampton job and Nathan jones was and Russel Martin

Same goes as to why mark robins wasn’t either

Love how every Blade has to point out how shit of a player he was but we wish him well.

Perfectly understandable though.
He had some similarities to Osborne but Monty's passing ability and general ball control was worse.
He seriously was pretty crap (ability wise) however Monty was a great tackler, even better than Osborne, so he was excellent at breaking up play.
Monty also had a great engine, closing down opposition midfielders not giving them time on the ball.
He was sometimes referred to as "Mr Anti Football" and probably explains why his most impressive season for us...was in the Premier League.
You could see some of the fancy high quality players in the Premier League really didn't enjoy playing against Monty.

However the Sheffield United traditional mentality is.......we the value Monty "always give 100% effort" underdog types.
