If there's someone we could spend the £1.5m on then snap their hands off.

If not then no point selling him to one of our rivals at this stage in the season

QUICK SELL SELL SELL SELL!!!!!!

£1.5mil have west ham seen him play ? lol

Dont know what your worried about jack he would probably help them go down if he played regularly.

I'll wrap him up and post him. Have you noticed that in most of the action shots of Monty he's got his eyes shut?

if thats true it will be a very good piece of business. As much as i like monty that amount is too much to refuse.

I can't believe how so called fans/supporters can be so flippant about a player who has given everything in terms of effort for The Blades.

Oh well you may learn with years of watching.

I've edited this to say he was one of the stars of the Arsenal match and the only player who showed any bottle in the Swansea match.

Do you lot watch games??

No i dont. I stand there with my eyes shut for 90 minutes, then re-open them at full time.

When leaving the ground i hear people comment on the game and just pick up on that really.

Yes i do watch the games and we all know i love montgomery my favourite player but for money like that i wouldnt mind seeing him go!

So you don't agree he was good against Arsenal??

Yes he gives a 110% but the guy lacks quality and thats what u need to surivive in the premiership and if west ham are stupid enough to offer 1.5mil then i say sell. It will be the best price we will ever get for him.

You need as much of both as you can get. It's all well and good having this "quality", but if you don't have the effort, determination and fight for the cause its absolutely nothing. A lot of players "qualities" don't shine through without a player like Monty there to rely upon doing the hard stuff for them.

Monty has limited ability, most people who have played a bit can see that. His quality on the ball is not the best and he lacks pace to either get beyond the opposition or to get back alongside.

But he also has other qualities, amazing engine can run all day. Never gives up will battle to the end for the cause and can do a seriously good job of stopping a specific player from being effective. The step up has highlighted his limitations and probably shown he will never be more than a good championship player. So what?
Give me a monty making the most of what he has than a webber appearing to have it all and not really showing it

I agree totally there.

Credit to him, he is hard working. But, so would i if i put on a united shirt on his wage.

Doesn't mean id be up to the task though. Which unfortunately Monty isn't anymore. Shame, cos if his work rate could be matched with level of skill, we would have a cracking player.

He runs
He tackles
He gives everything

He then gives the ball away

He runs
He tackles
He gives everything

He gives the ball away and the other team get a chance

He stops the chance
He runs
He gives everything

He then gives the ball away

Thats Nick Montgomery, nice lad, great proffesinal and i dont mind him, but if anybody would turn 1.5 million down for him then you are mad.

Sometimes he crosses and we score and gain 3 points.
Good that we can pick out a singular example for all his years with us.

All this sentimentality is great but let's not forget the deal would make Nick Montgomery a very rich young man and he'd only go if he wanted to. Nobody can force him to sign (the up-side of the Bosman).

He's played well many times and does not give the ball away as much as others make out.

He has been one of our best performers in our last 2 home matches.

I not making him out to be bad, id say thats a pretty fair assessment of him.

He either passes the ball 5 yards behind his man or gives it to the other team. He then wins it back and the whole process starts again.

I think we have a few others who fit that description.

Let's hope he brings someone in who improves us.

That's what we all want.
