Mo Besic

If players like jags and Leon decide to sign extensions past June 30th then great - CW is doing the right thing by all of his players in trying to keep them until the extended season is finished.

As for Leon signing next season - don't be daft anyone - United are moving on at a pace rarely seen at any club up and down the country - we've outgrown Leon. Thanks for the memories, but it's time for him to move on.

As for Jags - he still seems very fit - he's helped us to stay in this division for a 2nd year - that is probably mission accomplished. Jags may want to drop down a division and play full time for someone else............Rotherham perhaps? He'd do a great job.

As for the OP title - Mo Besic - time for him to go - writing on the wall when Berge signed - no future whatsoever at United, Besic knows it, his agent knows it and I would think CW knows this would happen. We chased Berge last summer - Besic is only here to make the numbers up when Berge didn't come.

We need to move on - COVID-19 has also brought different goals to all clubs including ours.

If you think about it this way, we have 9 on the bench, say we have Berge, Fleck and Norwood as our midfield 3 and we are going into the 70th minute of a game 1-0 up, midfield legs are tiring, who do you want in our squad to bring on to sure things up? I can’t think of anyone better than Besic for this specific job. Perhaps Wilder now sees Retsos as this player for this particular role.

Jags or Retsos on and Bash moved into midfield. Lunny? Osborn? Rodwell? Slater?

Released by Everton, would we accept him back on a free? Think Wilder would still be interested?

Now that we've signed Berge and had the emergence of Osborn too, he'll be in the exact same position as he was in before covering injuries and having the odd bench cameo.
Would be good for another newly promoted side but like with so many we've signed, the teams progression has been faster than that of some individuals.

Shame if bridges have been burnt. Would have been a good addition - proven that he can play in our system, adds a bit of bite in midfield that we are lacking at times - especially against the "bigger" teams who have the lion's share of possession. Also decent in possession.
Suspect he would perform well in Europe as well

Besic would be ok as a squad member but I'm guessing he wants a more prominent role than that or he would've stayed at Everton,

Did us a fine job in his limited appearances.

I can see him rocking up at somewhere like Leeds next season with the promise of a new challenge.

We'll see.

If we are monitoring the situation, we won't get to know, if we're not, there's a reason

Both things are in wilders hands.. Nice isn't it to have somebody who knows the game..

Very difficult to know if we or he would be interested to be honest. We wanted to extend it to cover the rest of the season and it didn’t happen. A bit like the Retsos situation, was that because the player wasn’t interested in doing so (particularly given the limited gametime till that point) or did Everton make signing him permanently a requirement of any extension, which meant we moved on?

Does he have Europe league experience, we may need him of so. You blades!!

Would love to see him back. Fitted in well and had future legend written all over him for me.

If he decided to end the loan spell, it might have been for family reasons, if he didn't fancy spending 3 months locked down in Sheffield away from them.

He was still with us post-lockdown

He'd be top quality in the championship, fitness permitting. I think his game time with us was diminished by the fact that we were at the height of our powers at the time, with a fully functioning unit that worked effectively. But now, he would likely be our best midfielder, unless the new manager can somehow perform miracles with the current mob.

When he came into the team I thought he looked class ,liked a tackle and read the game well but actually carried the ball forward in a way only fleck had done for us he was also a neat and tidy passer

Can't understand how he wasn't given more of a role but looking back at wilders reign from then on its not even top twenty five in head scratching decisions

Yesterdays news let’s move on we have some exiting youngsters coming through Slaters had a great season at Hull and RCD also.

Also Wilder bombing Freeman out and not replacing him.

Has Freeman returned from Forest? if Freeman is returning maybe he is in our plans moving forward but if not then Besic is a good shout on a free...
