Always felt a bit sad for this kid. Signed, brought over, never really played much in either development squad, practically told we didn't want him as soon as he set foot in the UK then sent packing again. I know footballers generally get the glamorous lifestyle but this certainly was the other end of that.
Really? He got to visit Staines. That's glamour.

I think he turned out a few times for the U21s, both at RB & RM. But it can't be easy for these lads moving to a new country and then not getting any meaningful game time. Polendakov has been selected for Bulgaria U21s a few times whilst with us, so maybe a move back there is the best option for everyone.
It almost feels like some of these deals needed investigating.

Did we agree that we’d take in at least x players and therefore pay y commission to Bord?

We had Seriki, Sachdev, Curtis, Colechan, Giggs all within about 4 years of each other. Who in their right mind was saying “what we need now is a young right back!”?

He clearly won’t return. Option, obligation to buy, back in his home country. You’d think that would be a no brainer. Ludogrets must know him enough from the youth set up of the National team to know what they are getting.

Removes another unnecessary body.

It doesn’t sit well with how some of these players have almost been trafficked and given very little duty of care. I know football is a ruthless business.

Look at the squads for Chesterfield and Halifax. Can Ukaki and Nwanchukwu really not make the bench ahead of some of the additional kids that were included?

It’s not a very satisfactory chapter in our history and it feels like due to Bord’s influence probably somehow leading to Wilder’s departure that these lads are just getting caught in the crossfire.

Feel sorry for them to be honest.

I think the use of the term 'trafficked' isn't great. The difference between these lads getting moves to a relatively big club with a good wage is a very different world to someone getting actually trafficked.

That said, we do owe them a duty of care when they get here and I think there's been a dereliction there. They clearly weren't properly scouted (obviously in addition to being purchased based on Bord's AI bollocks). If they had, we'd have known if there was something worth teasing out through exposure to u21 football.

As Champers says, what on earth were we doing bringing in another RB when we were stocked with them. Although, when you look that Seriki was in the first team, Sachdev injured, Curtis out on loan etc, then there were definitely opportunities for him. I worry about the culture of the club that we don't seem to have a pathway for foreign under 21s in addition to local ones.

The issue with a lot of the youth players brought in by Bord is that no one really knows if they can do it or not because they haven't been given an opportunity to play. Are Zatterstrom, Ukaki, Nwachukwu & Polendakov any worse than anything else coming through the youth ranks and how do the club benefit by them being bombed out?

They may not be good enough but when you have a manager so stubborn he will never give them a chance because they are AI guys then you’re buggered,

We have seen plenty signed by Wilder that weren’t/aren’t good enough but they play because he signed them, the arrogant streak is a major personal flaw within his management skill set

By all accounts, the players brought in by Bord were making the other players laugh with their lack of ability

I didn't think Ukaki disgraced himself in the limited minutes he had in pre-season/cup games. Certainly looked a bit more lively than Marsh.

Given what's considered acceptable at our club I'm not sure I'd trust anyone's assessment of a player without seeing them myself.

He was shocking against Birmingham in the League Cup. Made Benie Traore look like Mbappe. Slow midget.

Shacks says Hi! Remind me who signed him??!! Maybe not slow but certainly a crocked midget!! Not just AI that signs small players who are never going to play a part!!

I know. So?
Maybe someone should tell our manager and scouting team?! The lack of pace and athleticism is a glaring blind spot that the club doesn’t seem to want to address.
PS I know it’s a bit OT but John Souttar is too small to be a commanding centre back.
