I think everyone under estimating his role at the club. I looked at Sofias official instagram post of the signing and the literal translation sounds interesting... 😂
Could be a good move for him then with some of the crap you see our players wearing when they’re off the clock.

Meant no disrespect towards Polendakov. But Curtis is a year older and he must feel that he deserves a chance now.
He will get a chance if he impresses enough.

Competition for places breeds improvement.

Been loaned out to Ludogorets, which is a hell of a loan - good chance to get either noticed and a move or develop and become an asset

Great loan for him,Ludo have a great set up for development of young players and it's a chance for him to step up and show what he's about at a level he's more used to with a chance of moving back to a higher level in Europe if he delivers

They won the Bulgarian league 14 times in a row, are Champions League or Europa League regulars and are a much better club than the one we signed him from. They'd probably win easily if they played us.
Did they do all that by going 'round over or through' I wonder, with added badge thumping and cliches?

A fair chance we may re-coup whatever we paid for him and a bit more.

Possibly, but it's up to him, firstly to break into their first team squad and hold his place down, then they might take him permanently,or another club might like what they see,so it's basically a shop window for him to show what he can do.

Always felt a bit sad for this kid. Signed, brought over, never really played much in either development squad, practically told we didn't want him as soon as he set foot in the UK then sent packing again. I know footballers generally get the glamorous lifestyle but this certainly was the other end of that.

Not sure he's anywhere near good enough to play regularly for them but there's little to lose as he'll never get a fair crack here. Either he goes there, never plays and is in the same position next summer, or plays a bit without triggering the obligation and they either sign him or we get him back with an idea of how he performed in a decent team. If he play enough that he triggers the obligation to buy it doesn't matter how good he is, could be a solid player for them for years or they could instantly sell him on for a profit.

None of the AI players were ready for the Championship last season, doesn't mean they won't develop into good players.

They've got a new manager coming in on Monday so all the players will have a clean slate and no pre conditions with a chance to impress or not according to what he's looking for,so that could go in the kids favour

But as a player with average ability, getting a decent move to the EFL Championship from Bulgarian leagues, along with the money and the experience it brings, you'd most likely take the deal every day of the week.

The move may not have resulted in him progressing for Sheffield United, but no doubt he'll be wiser for the experience and getting a decent move to play week in week out on loan in a more familiar league might also be good for him.

I think he turned out a few times for the U21s, both at RB & RM. But it can't be easy for these lads moving to a new country and then not getting any meaningful game time. Polendakov has been selected for Bulgaria U21s a few times whilst with us, so maybe a move back there is the best option for everyone.
