Gone a bit quiet this one?
I think we’ve recruited ahead of the curve re Anel by bringing in Souttar and Gilchrist.Wonder how many have release clauses?
Rumour that Anel has one at 17m.
Wonder if Souza does?
Nightmare scenario is that someone comes late on and triggers the clause, there’s nothing we can do and it’s too late for a replacement.
Fingers crossed.
I wouldn't worry about it, as the release clause in Hamer's contract has expired, so it's up to us. How the hell would Nixon know what Bettis / Wilder / Owners etc know what our accept price would be? We probably don't know ourselves.I really don’t like that last line….
He looked great at WBA from what I saw tbhPlayer who never made more than 15 league appearances in the SPL a season.
Basically because he had a great loan at WBA. Let's hope it's clicked for him
If this comes off, we have landed a very good player. I watch a lot of Celtic games and have a lot of time for Mikey. Really good feet and very positive with the ball. Fingers crossed
Worth noting Sarmiento was mostly just used as a sub by Ipswich, who then haven't chosen to buy him.Very few Celtic fans would agree with this.
However, West Brom fans seem to rate him from his time there.
At £2.5m it's relatively low-risk so worth a go (though Sarmiento going to Burnley would have been my preferred option, having seen a lot more of him).
Plus he's foreign so no good for us. That's why Anel, Souza, Hamer and Trusty are the ones we're getting arrt.Worth noting Sarmiento was mostly just used as a sub by Ipswich, who then haven't chosen to buy him.
Edit: Looked exciting on EFL highlights though, no doubt.
Don't disagree but not long to get potentially get 2 more defenders in before Friday though.Johnston + £2.5m for Trusty is outstanding business
Makes you wonder why WBA aren't back in for him.Very few Celtic fans would agree with this.

Depends if Anel goes as well, if he doesn't then I still think him and Souttar would be our best pairing with JLT, RND (+ Gilchrist) as backups, then sign another RBDon't disagree but not long to get potentially get 2 more defenders in before Friday though.
Well, the very few are very wise in their judgementVery few Celtic fans would agree with this.

61 appearances in 8 years in one of the worst leagues in Europe. If this comes off, we have landed a very good player. I watch a lot of Celtic games and have a lot of time for Mikey. Really good feet and very positive with the ball. Fingers crossed
David Whites Dad / uncle was on our board at the time I believe. Wasn’t this the reason we signed him?Dave White was definitely past his best and a bit of a crock, but get him on the pitch for us and he was still very handy.
Remember us playing Wolves at the Lane in a big promotion match and White scoring twice for us as we came back each time to level it at 2-2. United put the pedal round the metal and were absolutely all over em for the last 15 and heaven knows how we didn't score. Then in the last minute of injury time, the Wolves centre half just hacked it clear in desperation...and it landed just perfectly between our two centre halves for their one speedy lad up front to run onto and score a winner. Gutted doesn't do it justice. Still am at the thought.
White was decent for us and a cracking buy from Kendall for £500k.

Sheff Utd agree £2.5m deal for Celtic winger Johnston
Latest from Sky Sports News' Anthony Joseph and Tim Thornton:
Sheffield United have agreed a fee of around £2.5m for Celtic winger Mikey Johnston.
It is anticipated that this agreement could smooth things over in Celtic’s pursuit of Blades centre-back Auston Trusty.
The Hoops have been open to offers for the Republic of Ireland international, who had a successful loan spell at West Brom in the second half of last season.
Sky Sports News reported earlier today that Celtic have made a £5m bid for Trusty.

Tbh, eight years goes back to when he was 17.61 appearances in 8 years in one of the worst leagues in Europe.
I'm glad there's someone else who remembers this great show, Challenge showed the episodes a few years ago.Not sure I've heard the name Mikey since the short-lived game show Interceptor
Aren't they under a transfer embargo?Makes you wonder why WBA aren't back in for him.
