At the quoted figures, this feels like it'd be a great deal. We need balance down that side

🤞

David Whites Dad / uncle was on our board at the time I believe. Wasn’t this the reason we signed him?

In all probability, it is probably one of the reasons (maybe the main reason) why we brought David White in. He was brought in on loan in November 1995 and it was made permanent the month after which was when Bassett resigned. White and his uncle were probably already on the Howard Kendall to the Lane bandwagon, so I'm not sure what influence in reality, a fed up Dave Bassett had on the incoming of David White to the Lane. Probably very little, in all honesty. If DW hadn't had injury problems then he wouldn't have been attainable for us as he was a very good player on his day. We got him when his long outstanding injuries where starting to take effect (think he retired about 2 years into a 3 year contract with us).

Stuart White was a big mate of Mike McDonald. They were both part of the Manchester business crowd who used to hang around Altrincham FC back in the 80s & 90s. Fred Eyre was also part of that crowd.

Wonder what Mike Mcdonald is doing these days. He wasn't a particularly likeable man and was arrogant (and basically said he took us over as a consolation as he couldn't get Man City, which isn't going to get you off to a good start with the Blades fans), but he and his wife didn't deserve the spitting on them in the Stand episode which was absolutely disgusting. Anyway, he's probably being an odious toad somewhere these days.

He’ll be knocking on in years so I very much doubt he’ll be actively doing much.

He was a decent guy but some some unknown
Reason allowed Charles green to run the ship and he would not communicate with the fans.
The spitting incident would not have happened if green had a clue but unfortunately supporters let themselves and the club down and McDonald and his wife were no longer prepared to fund the club

His son is still a regular at the lane in the directors box

Aye
When thefootballclubformerlyknownasRangers were in the midst of their (self inflicted) demise (2012) McDonald & Chuckie Green were named as being interested in investing in / buying them - shit attracting shit wasps (& odious toads) & all that
Green headed up a consortium that purchased the club & became CEO at Ibrokes for around a year although unclear what, if any involvement McDonald had.
Green was implicated in (continued) financial shenanigans prior to stepping down/ selling up to a (similar) shyster & was subsequently investigated by the ‘Polis’

Didn't he allow Willie Donachie to move to Man City with the reasoning being it was a good move for the club? And the club he was referring to was Man City.

He’s been fairly quiet since leaving the Doobie Brothers, although had 1 great solo album.

Can't say I am particularly excited for this bit if he's essentially a swap for done nothing Anis it's a clear upgrade
