Midfield tribute song idea

I'm expecting a slating, first post and everything.. no doubt someone will have had this exact idea last week but here goes. To the sound of 'stuck in the middle with you', these couple of lines from the chorus to be exact;
"Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right,
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you"

I'm thinking we could have;
"Enda to the left of them, Baldock to the right,
Duffy and, Fleck in the middle with Coutts".

Dunno if anyone can make anything better of it or if something can go before but I think there's something in that.
Let the ripping commence.

Has everyone on here heard of this song (by Stealer's Wheel btw)? Might be a bit too old for some of these young whippersnappers on here? I bet few of them have got Stealer's Wheel first album on vinyl like I have! So there! Phillip Cann's or was it Wilson Peck's or Bradleys? Dunno!

Anyhow, great song, great band, great idea to celebrate the best midfield we've had for a few decades!

I suspect this has already been answered. The song, "Stuck In The Middle With You", was Stealer's Wheel's biggest hit. The album that this was lifted from was also produced by the legendary writing duo, Lieber and Stoller. Great song, but sadly though the lead vocalist, Gerry Rafferty, left the band and had a solo career with "Baker Street" being his best known song.

I didn't realise it was a Lieber and Stoller production tbh. I think it's a great album though. "Stuck in the middle with you" is the biggest hit as you say, but all the tracks on that album are good. I particularly like the first and last tracks: "Late again" (great vocals and saxophone on that track) and "You put something better inside of me".
