Midfield: My main concern

I can't agree with this bit entirely Olle, I would imagine Kitson is on the most money out of that lot but he certainly is not a Wilson signing considering he stated we should not be bringing in any more over 30 yr old strikers a few days before Kitson signed. That signing to me has McCabe written all over it due to him being a family friend of the McCabe's. I'm amazed that when Quinn was around we could afford to loan Gallagher but now both have gone we cannot afford to bring in anyone, something don't sound right here.

Wilson chose to sign Cofie, Miller and Blackman before McCabe signed Kitson. He also chose to re-sign Porter. Wilson might not have had a hand in signing our best striker, but he sowed his seeds by signing the others. Whether the number was 6 or 7 it did not matter, 2 were only ever going to start. Having anything over 4 strikers on the books is just daft. Everyone could see this, but Wilson did nothing about it. It was obvious Quinn was off, yet nothing was sorted. I thought the reason for sending Gallagher back was that we needed to spen his wages on getting cover for Long. However we have not done that. Presumably Howard is back soon. Perhaps we are too close to the FFPR cut off point, but we desperately need a winger and I really hope that we can sort something.

Too right Matty, how the hell is a young 'un going to cope against the mighty Stevenage in front of 16 thousand or so?

Glad I didn't have to wash your kecks the day Nicky Law made his debut against that team from Manchester the other year.

Look how good Nicky Law turned out ! No disrespect to Motherwell but they'd get relegated from the Championship too. He's hardly furthered his career.

And no, he shouldn't have played against Man Utd either. Maybe decisions like that are the reason we're in league one now

I cant see a problem with Wilson signing Blackman, Miller and Cofie we needed bodies as only Porter had extended his contract. Forget about Cresswell despite his ludicrous 3yr deal he was only ever going to be used in 30 minute stints at most (the abuse I got on here when I was critical of this ) you can't really blame Danny if McCabe brings a mate in who takes a fair chunk of the wage budget. Having said that Ironside and Philliskirk don't seem to be ready to step up so you have to wonder why they are still at the club, if they have not made it by the time they are 18 it is unlikely they will, only a small percentage are late developers, remember we are on about throwing them in at 3rd division level not Premiership. I know what you are saying about not bringing in wide men but all the sounds coming out of BDTBL pre season told us Wilson had very little clue as to the size of his transfer budget or wage budget and it would seem that is the case even now the goalposts seem to be constantly moving. One day we can bring someone in next day McCabe says we have to sell before recruiting, one day we can play Monty, Cresswell etc next day we can't, one day we can bring in cover for keeper next day we are at the limit and can't loan anyone. Not an ideal situation to be working under is it ? I would be inclined to lay the blame for the present squad imbalance a bit higher up than Danny Wilson.

Same owd, same owd, we were moaning about how shit the midfield was most of the time when Colin was manager, nothing changes eh ?
Williams, should be nowhere near midfield, then again he should be nowhere near the first team.
Doyle, never thought I'd say it but he comes close to being as bad as Monty, think I'd sooner have Monty at least he was honest Doyle is a real sneeky dirty bastard always looking for a way to kick someone's ankles.
McDonald, he does have some talent but a bigger fooking wuss I have yet to see on a football field never a hair out of place, he couldn't tackle a hot dinner.
Flynn, is it Mr Average or Mr mediocre ? does nothing really badly but then again does nothing really well.
Reserves/back up, we have none worth getting excited about just kids with no experience and unlikely to get any with Wilson.
Manager, Danny is really starting to show his true colours, Mr nice guy who had no plan B until he found the Blackwell diaries in his office waste bin (damn McCabe for sacking the cleaners) I always said he had no balls as far back as when he was a player for the pigs.

Just watch what you're saying

yeah.. behave metal.. doyle 'is' capable of making a five yard pass :D
he was outstanding in the run in last season, although unfortunately has rediscovered his 10-11 form recently
