The more I think about it the more I am pleased with the unchanged side. If we put up another stinker....hopefully that will be enough for CW to realize we need desperate change in that midfield. Again - zero creativity and speed in the midfield (minus Fleck).

The players will be hurting after Saturday night, i can see more heart tonight and i am going for a 0-2 score UTB

We weren’t very good on Saturday but I’ve just looked at Boros’ lineup and we have nothing to fear, we can beat these if we cut out the slack passes and stupid naivety late on in games. 2-0 to the Blades.

He's giving them a chance to respond which is fair enough but if they don't he's got to make changes quicker.

McGoldrick 2 starts in 3 days seems like a recipe for disaster

I'm dont believe Evans and Lundstram are tactically aware enough to be effective together

If we cut out the slack passes and score some goals without conceding I’m pretty sure we can win this... :D

Match facts
  • Middlesbrough have won four of their past five home matches against Sheffield United in all competitions (D1).
  • Sheffield United have failed to score in any of their past four visits to the Riverside Stadium in all competitions, last scoring away against Middlesbrough in a 3-1 defeat in the Premier League on New Year's Day 2007.
  • Middlesbrough have won their second league fixture of the season in six of the past seven seasons, losing only in 2014-15 against Leeds United - their second league fixture last season was a 1-0 home win against Sheffield United.
  • Ten of the past 11 league goals Sheffield United have conceded have been in the second half of games, including both against Swansea in their first league match of 2018-19.
  • Middlesbrough have not lost a home league match when scoring first since March 2014 (1-3 v QPR) - they are unbeaten in 54 home league games when scoring the first goal of the game (W48 D6) and won all 12 home Championship games last season when doing so.
  • Sheffield United have lost their first away league match of the season in each of their past five campaigns.

We might as well not bother, looking at those stats.

Don't care about it being same team tbh. I'm more concerned with who comes and goes before Thurs.

Unchanged starting 11

Well that's un impressive ☹️

Same team. This is the start of the end of Chris. Stubborn and showing who's boss. We know you're the boss Chris but good managers admit when they are wrong. It didn't work and my prediction is it won't work tonight. We'll see if the fans are right or our manager.

Only positive with that line up is that it’s more of an away line up, but still not impressed.

I would have liked to have seen Woodburn playing off the striker, could do with a bit of pace to hit Boro on the break.

Wilder's clearly gone defensive and see how it goes and if goes badly then Duffy and/or Woodburn will no doubt be on. We'd all love Duffy and/or Woodburn to stat but we're away at a strong team and I get why he doesn't want to go too attacking, or make knee jerk changes after one bad game. I predict 2 - 1 Blades still. McGoldrick and Lunny to score!

I am strangely optimistic on this game and Boro depleted. Wilder will have the lads pumped after Saturday.
