Mick was in the same mould as Chris Morgan IMO, sold uncompromising defender who could take it as well as dish it out - and never complained

Dingles both of 'em through and through, he knows this division inside out

I like McCarthy , straight talking bloke & very experienced manager who knows the division well , I agree with the momentum comment he makes we've got a tough opening programme but confidence & momentum can carry you a long way . I'll go for a mid table finish for us , but turning over some of the big boys along the way , really hope the the more critical / fickle element of our fans afford CW and the boys with fervent support & some patience ?

I'll go with Fulham
Wolves

Play Offs. Villa
Boro
Derby
Norwich

Relegated Bolton
Barnsley
Milwall

THIS is the third season for Carlos Carvalhal at Wednesday.

He is doing a really good job and is improving every single season.

Karanka, lad.

Wednesday lost in the Play off final to Hull 1-0. The season after they got knocked out on pens in the Semi's.

That's not improving, you donut.

McCarthy is the sole reason Ipswich haven't been relegated yet.

He should go for the next decent job that crops up, he'd do a good job for anyone in the Championship and is wasted (and unappreciated) at Ipswich.

If they get off to a crap start (yesterday's result was not too promising :D) I see him gone. Fans are turning on him summat wicked.

Well i think it is an improvement, looking at things from my perspective

And he's the sole reason why Ipswich will not go up. Like Pulis, Mark Hughes, Allardyce etc. he's seen as 'solid'. That'll play with the fans for so long, but when you see similarly-sized clubs showing ambition and adventure, it soon gets boring.

Best story I heard about McCarthy from a bloke who was also there as a manager at the time, LMA annual conference somewhere in Spain about 10 years ago, McCarthy bought a Pina Colada and after a sip he didn't like it. He spent the next 10 minutes trying to sell it to other managers and the following 10 minutes telling the bar man he should give him his money back or give him a free replacement, proper tight bastard by all accounts.

Speaking of which, this never fails to raise a smile whenever I see it. :D

I prefer this one.
