Sadly my first post on this forum is about my brother Mick, a true Blade for over fifty years. He has spent the last three weeks in the Hallamshire hospital, missing the away games at Villa and WBA and the home wins over Middlesbrough and Reading. I hope he may be a little better to watch or follow the derby next week and a win for the mighty Blades would be a great tonic for him, and for me! Just wanted to let people know about his situation as many fellow Blades will know him. He was a regular on Shred’s away trips for many years.
Keep the faith and UTB.

Pass on my regards to him Eric, used to work with Mick at Hepworth’s many years ago.

Top Blade

Speedy Recovery Mick remember you from Olive Grove reminiscing about Shred tours top man

Hope he manages to follow the match on Monday, and that our fans make so much noise that he can hear them, even without tv or radio. Good luck.

When Bert started reading that he was thinking that you were about to say that he'd croaked. ...... well thankfully he was wrong.
Best wishes to him.

Thanks for the messages so far, will pass them on when I visit later this morning. He has a view of the Lane from the ward but, thankfully, no view of the rust bucket. Should certainly hear our fans when King Billy smashes in a couple on Monday night! UTB.

So sorry to hear that. May I ask, what's your view on people visiting Mick? Is he up to it? Would he welcome that? I wouldn't want to intrude.

Please pass on my best wishes. I well remember our days at GR-Stein at Ranmoor. And tell him Geraldine sends her best too.

Hello,
Thanks for your message Phil. I know you used to see Mick at Stocksbridge for the U.23’s games and, of course, at Headingley in the summer. He would be up for a visit but is not really his usual self and is quite confused and quiet, understandably, at the moment. We are meeting with the consultant tomorrow so could I update you after that? Hopefully, he could have a visit later in the week. Thanks again.
