Not sure whether it will be a good signing for them or not, but should we be loaning to a rival club that has the same promotion aspirations as we do?

If they are promotion rivals then loaning them Higo should put a stop to that.

As a comparison, The Fish has demonstrated the levels of fitness, athleticism, mobility and endeavour that you need in a good centre-forward.

I like him. Feed him and he will do swimmingly.

Higdon needs to play for me so needs a month somewhere or needs to up his game and push Sammon all the way but he doesn't seem to be doing that and while Sammon is playing so well the only chance hes got is as a 93rd minute sub unfortunately. I personally think if we get H playing well he will be an asset through the season.

If tha can get Higo playing well I bet tha can turn water into wine as well.

There is a footballer in Higdon somewhere . Surely his self pride should kick start him , now he is 4th or 5th choice. A run at York or Northampton may do him some good and give him a kick up the arse . The only problem is , even if he went on loan to Harrogate Town , he would still be on the same dosh . If Adkins cannot sort him , nobody can.

Sending him back in time to Barnsley???? You must really hate the bloke, wouldn't wish that on Megson.

Mind you, I should imagine they'll be discovering Punk in the next couple of years so it might be one of the better time to go.

Punk?

The Teddy Boys won't like that.

I'm not sure what Higdon adds to a forward permutation that currently seems nailed down between Sammon, Sharp, and Adams. When Done is fit he'll clearly be a preferred choice to Higdon that it's becoming obvious he'll not feature. McNulty on the other hand, in spite of the restricted minutes on the pitch, might just turn from frog to prince, and although the jury is still out for me, I can see glimpses of promise that are worth persevering with. MM's goal against Blackpool showed exactly why he should be retained.

Indeed. A more expansive question than "what is the meaning of life". Suggests Foxy starts looking for a bigger server if this takes of.

1. It's the town that time forgot, where men are men and so are most of the women.
2. It's main sports are wife beating, bed wetting, incest and chucking bricks at trains.
3. They have a completely separate language unknown and unwanted outside the "tarn" (town) boundaries.
4. Dickie Bird is their best known "local lad".
5. KES.
6. Michael "professional yorkshireman" Parkinson. Bell End of the highest order and most famous exile.

Just thinking about the place, I'm too worked up to continue at present. Need a cuppa!

To be fair mate its pretty obvious what he offers...back up to Sammon...who at some point will be injured or suspended and thats the only reason he may not go out on loan.

Unless we sign another big man we need him as it seems pretty clear Adkins is going to play 442 with a big man alongside Sharp. We already have Adams, McNUlty and Done to play the second striker role but only Higdon as back up to Sammon

Yes, of course MH is the only genuine option we have as a replacement for Sammon, but he's had enough chances to show what he's capable of, unfortunately it's not enough to justify his place in the squad. I suppose there's a chance he may improve, but let's not kid ourselves, Higdon's been around long enough, both with us and in the professional game, but he's not made the impact any of us would have expected. It's time we sought another player, similar in build, but with far more potential, to fill this role. For the moment Sammon fills this role, but as he's a loan he'll either been signed permanently or return to Derby, leaving us with a gap to fill.

Assuming Adkins considers Sharp his main man. Further assuming Sammon is out injured etc.

Would Higdon get a shirt in front of these pairings ?

Done n Sharp.
McNulty n Sharp.
Adams n Sharp.

I suspect not. Lets face it, Higdon will either spend (very) large chunks of the season warming his rather large behind on the bench with cameos as an impact sub or he will be shipped out.

Not surprising at all that he is fully fit (!) and has had 0 minutes pitch time in L1 this year. The writing is most definitely on he wall.

UTB.

Dronnie re writing on the wall, the other thing to consider is he's probably on big wages for div one so which team worse than us is going to pay those wages ? The answer is nobody so if he did go out we would have to subsidise a large percentage of those wages in which we case we may as well keep him in the event of injury to Sammon.....unless of course we sign another big man in the next few days

Is he still here? Higgo, Clough's bloody Trojan Horse. Another one who doesn't want to be here and shows it.

HIgdon update
Even close to exit now, few more steps will be almost there
Will update in seven hours

Teams up in Scotland interested this could go down to the wire but expecting him to leave even if it is in the loan window.
