Outgoing? Michael Cooper

Cooper is the same Agent as Kyle Walker-Peters and Callum Wilson. KWP signed for WHU a week ago, Wilson has just agreed terms.

This worries me! He’s well connected to Wet Spam!

Doubt any PL team (apart from possibly Leeds or Burnley) will take the risk putting Cooper straight into the 1st team.
Remember most of his career has been in league 1….he’s only played 1.5 seasons in the Championship….so still relatively untested.

Think we might see an enquiry of about £10 million to £15 million for him to be backup keeper at a PL club
But pretty sure we’d turn it down (not tempting enough) and Cooper won’t be keen going to another club to be 2nd choice keeper.
He’s better having another season here to continue building up his reputation.

Burnley could come in yet, if Trafford leaves for Citeh, then surely they will look at Coops, but they can fuck off.

Bet they don’t. They’ll see that money for Trafford and their eyes will light up.

I’d see them going foreign and cheap.

That said, they have 4 keepers right not. As well as Trafford, they signed the German lad, Weiß, got an experienced guy in Hladky and Etienne Green. Don’t know what happened to him. He’s 25 now. At one point he was getting good press at St Etienne, rated at 10m in 2021 by the Germans in the basement. Now rated at less than a million. What happened? Did he have an arm transplant?! Maybe they thought they were rating Eva Green and that’s how they gave a ‘10’ 😂

Etienne Green was playing for St Etienne... who play in green.

Like when Ross County had about 4 Ross' in their team

Don’t know how reliable this chap is

Really can't see this happening;

1 - Cooper isn't very good with his feet at Champ level, let alone Prem where it is seen as an essential skill.
2 - He won't want to be No2
3 - That West Ham first choice keeper is a bit of a tit apparently..

Nah. Some transfer expert that needs to pump out stories for engagement.
Our manager said he's definitely staying, their owner says they're not in for him.
Cooper is known to want to be a no1.
Areola is a pretty top keeper to be competing with.

I don’t want Cooper to leave. He’s one position we don’t have to worry about.

But if he did, who would you look at?

In terms of similar trajectory. The Wrexham keeper did well, as did Allsop at Brum, both of which would be hard to prize away.

As such I reckon the Wigan goalie Same Tickle would be an option. He’s 23, slightly taller than Cooper, marginally and has an impressive 20 clean sheets in 51 matches with only 46 conceded and led League One in saves to goals ratio.

I also liked the Finnish lad at Celtic but would imagine he’s just biding his time for Schmeichel to move over.

Any other players you’d fancy? Just hypothetically.

£25 mill he’s yours

If it’s true there’s genuine interest in Cooper, it’s at these times the resolve and intent of our new owners is tested.

McCabe was always accused of giving our players away. PA perhaps not so much.

I go along with some on here that Cooper’s not for sale (at this time), so hopefully that is correct?

One thing’s for sure, regardless of what fans think, these owners will do what they want to do, as already witnessed with CW

Sam Tickle domestically like you say or Mohammed Kone at Charleroi.

Ideally both and move on Davies and Grbic as well and have them compete for the number one spot.

No, but a keeper doesn't have any ability to reduce the number of shots conceded. That's the job of the forwards, midfield and defence.

Trafford probably wouldn't have had an 81% save ratio with the Stoke team.in front of him. Johansson would probably have had a higher save % ratio with the Burnley team in front of him.

Dont have to take offence and be sarcastic, ee can have a differemce of opinion. We both know that there's more to the game than stats. VJ has won either players player or fans player of the year for the last 3 seasons.
But taking offence and being sarcastic is the DNA of this forum

I’m outraged and disappointed you don’t know that - at your age

It is not worth their while to spend over £100m on the club with commitments to have category one status academy etc. if they are going to assett strip the club. They only make any real money if they get us into the premier league and stay there, that is what they have said and that is the logical thing for them to do.
The fact that they sacked your beloved Wilder is the first step on the road to running us on a proper business like basis, and not as a one man band with a guy wanting to make all the decisions.
If he had got us promotion and played front foot football and been prepared to adhere to a management structure which meant him not throwing his bat and ball out if he did not get his own way he would still be here.
