Outgoing? Michael Cooper

I really can't see his value rising significantly more than it is today. His dire distribution and use of his feet will get exposed in the Premier League at a team which passes out from the back. He's not worth double. Never will be. That put him in the top 20 of most expensive goalkeepers of all time.
This "dire distribution" is being incredibly overplayed here.

If we sold him for 20/25 million and spent 15 mill on 2 or 3 players id be happy for him to go

I like cooper but there are other coopers out there

We just dont really know how much money the new owners have if we are all been honest
Took us years to find Cooper been trying to get him since 2019 when he was hardly known. Trust me a keeper like Cooper cannot be replaced unless in the prem and then have 30M

The calibre of player a team with aspirations to get into the Premier League, and stay there, builds around.

If either West Ham or Burnley are in he’s gone, either way. Looks at Ramsdale, shite for numerous relegation sides but he’s still getting a Newcastle move isn’t he

I want Ramsdale's agent. They must drug whoever is charge of transfers at football clubs to convince them to buy him and not just buy him but pay a great big fuck off fee for him.

Comparing Cooper and Trafford in terms of value is wrong.

Burnley paid £14 million for Trafford from the best team in the world at the time, but even then Man City had a hefty sell on clause. He was the U-21 keeper and odds on to be the next England keeper. He is being resigned by one of the biggest clubs in the world.

We paid £2 million for Cooper. From a poor Championship side and he played most of his games in League 1. We're in the division below. We're not selling to a club owned by a country. He's never been capped, at a y age group, as far as I'm aware. he's 2-3 years older. We aren't getting anything like £20 million for him. Before you even factor in the fact he's poor with his feet. A must in the top flight.

The best United keeper I've ever seen was Alan Kelly and I don't think we got a million for him.

It's not just about ability.

And for clarity, I don't want to sell him but if the owners are doing a buy low sell high policy then he's probably not getting much higher value and the value will decrease as his contract runs down.

We need to give it one more shot with Cooper. If we don't go up this season, then by all means sell him.
Selling him now would be such a mental blow. Not to mention a pretty significant downgrade in goal.

He might be happy here, but if he has shot at securing a first team place in the PL he would be mad not to fancy it. We hold his contract, so I hope we ask him to give us one more season and if we're not promoted we'll happily entertain offers. Everyone has a price though.

I was just writing similar when you posted this. I'm hoping he doesn't get his head turned.

Whilst I do think, playing ability wise, he's a £20m player.. there's a lot of logic in this.

The game has long gone at the top level in terms of fees but it's only really for 'trendy' players and clubs. Look at Felix. The general madness around the money paid for him. But I'm not seeing it trickle down that quickly. In a sense, that's why we got Burrows and Cooper for a relative steal.

Hes not ramsdale and henderson are better and paddy kenny has done more than he has at the lane

Cooper is a millions miles better than Ramsdale or Kenny were for us.

Henderson is a close-call, but I think you'd have to go with Hendo giving what we achieved in his time here.
