Saturday was a two sigma outlier between what the result should have been, and what the result was. Tonight was nothing more than a chance to give fringe players minutes and the result was irrelevant. If you think the owners don't realise we need to replace Anel then that's hilarious. I would like that done sooner rather than later just like everyone but I'm alright in trusting the process and that we will get the requisite bodies in. Remember that Wilder round one had an extremely shit start as well.

I tend to agree, but with Wilder round one, we already had the players in place at this stage. I still think we're a few players short at this stage.and not overly confident that will alter

Given time and some incomers I am sure we will be ok, but not sure I can see us seriously challenging for promotion this season. But if this project takes longer then I am ok with that as long as someone tells us that, and we can see some sort of club/team development.

My worry is that none of the players we're rumoured to be after are natural leaders.

If we have to go through a bit of adversity and struggle for a few games, the lack of natural captain and senior players really is a a worry.

Ok but how are you going to plug the big hole in the finances next season without the parachute payments.

We need some experienced players to come in and steady the ship. Lead the younger players.

The next run of games looks pretty frightening and if we tank in all those, with a young team, I’ll be pretty worried.

That's precisely it. It's the distinct lack of communication from the board. If the expectation this season is to rebuild and consolidate, then say so! At the moment it just feels like radio silence from the board, which in turn feels like they don't care. Leadership starts at the very top. They need to create some hype and show some support for their new man. We feel rudderless as a club without a clear vision and undervalued as fans.

I hope you are right JT -because I don't think its an over reaction to say in first 2 matches we have been thrashed both times. And very worryingly the body language in both matches has been very bad. Our good players do not look happy at all. I respect your decision to try and be objective but right this minute it looks a proper mess to me.
Agreed. Had we narrowly lost these two games whilst looking competitive and organised, I don't think anyone would be too worried.

It's the fact we've been comprehensively outplayed by Bristol City and Birmingham Reserves that's got everyone panicking. It's looking like 23-4, only this time in the 2nd tier.
