This Saturday myself and my son will be meeting my old Norwich supporting schoolmate (friends since August 1973) and his son for lunch before this Saturday's match. Ironically his first match was Norwich v Blades in August 1970. Albert Bennett's goal won it for Norwich. A few years later when I was staying at his house in Gorleston, his dad recalled a funny moment of that match in August 1970 (my mate couldnt remember it), a thunderbolt of a shot from Alan Woodward hit Norwich's keeper, Kevin Keelan, on the chest which amused the crowd. Here is what Peter Howard reported the moment in the Green Un that night "A Salmons free kick to the far side of the box was played back by Badger and Woodward met it with a ferocious rising drive. Keelan knew nothing about it as the ball smashed against his chest and he was so shaken he had to have treatment."
Here is a photo of Woody's shot in the return fixture at the Lane in April 1971 (drew 0-0, Norwich outplayed us, John Hope made very good saves and they had a "good goal" disallowed for a reason that I still do not know)
