Probably the most violent of the games in Division 4 ,Herman wandering around the ground with his head caved in and many others got a good hiding that day. We got ambushed in a pub and a mate of mine went down the cellar to escape ,when the landlord opened it he hit him with a shovel thinking it was the nutters. £300 fine the following week and monkey hangers were waiting outside the court for him. I think we won and there were a few goals , but a very dodgy experience from getting chased out of the first pub to getting bricked on the outskirts on the way home.

I remember it well Sitwell. Also remember that the League Cup game in 1988 saw the unveiling of Flashing Blade on the coaches and in the ground. 22 years later and it's still going.

I must have been more pissed than usual that day ,which ,believe me means I must have been taitared cos although I was aware of it kicking off here and there in the ground and hearing rumours of it being a bit lively in the town dont remember any real bother coming my way .We would have been in a mini bus off Parson Cross and Fox Hill in those days and beer was the king for us

Do remember big Herman looking like he`d had a clip or two though
