My first reaction is definitely a big NO. However...
It is now some time (5 years?) since Madine was convicted of assault. People do mature/reform and may be his tweets against Billy were just a bad taste wind up. It is suggested in the Star that he is quite friendly with 2 of our players and that the players have been consulted. I have confidence in Wilder and I do not believe he would recruit any player who would disrupt the dressing room spirit. It would also fit in with CW's other recruitment record - a bit off the wall but will prove shred. Think Leon, Jake Wright, Goldie.
Madine would certainly give us a slightly different option from what we currently have although I do worry that we might be tempted just to play hoof ball with him in the side. AS others have pointed out our statistics show that we put more crosses into the box than any other side however our problem in my view is that the quality of most of those is poor and too slow - though recent games suggest we are making an effort top play more early crosses and this seems to have paid dividends in terms of goals scored. It is frustrating to see poor crosses come into the box when the only person in the box is Billy who is never going to out jump a big centrehalf. Madine might do that.
I am not aware whether Madine has any pace. We certainly need a player who has that. so would hope he is not the lone attacking recruit.
In short in CW and AK I trust.
