Ah you see Bramley and Highbury, There he sits Clapping his hands together in excitement while bouncing on his computer chair and grinning like a cheshire cat because he believes he scored points over you believing he has you all wound up.

Now your right about the bit in bold, After all he wanted pigs to beat us 4-0 to get Blackwell sacked. I would question his deep lying love as well.

spot on Boo. I always secretly hope that we lose so that I can come on here and say 'I told you so' to the 'clappers' didn't you see the 'sunshine band' application form?!

I think the burning question for me would be "looking at your current squad Gary, what would be a good final league position in your eyes". Honest answer staying up, actual answer he would most likely give if any top 10.

But olly, from your posts in the last week or so, it's the on the pitch stuff that is concerning you. That is Speed's responsibility.

You could ask questions like the above, but also you could ask far more probing questions that will get you an idea of the direction Speed was taking us.

If i was there i would be asking what specifically does he plan to do regarding improving penetration in the final third, What contingencies are in place if we have the injuries we have had last season (in the sense, would he be getting in loans as cover, or will the academy lads get their chance.

I think it's great that the Speed is having this session, and i'll be waiting till i know what he's said before making my opinions. You seem to have already drawn your conclusions, based on what you think he'll say.

As a 'sunshine band' member I think it is important that I make my decisions before Speed has said anything. That way I avoid being positive. No matter how honest, charming, realistic and positive he is I won't be happy. If he agrees to play acamedy players he's naive, but if he says loans then it's same owd, same owd. If he's honest and says we've got a relegation scrap then it's 'I told you so' to the 'clappers', but if he says top 10 then he is deluded and just talking crap because his boss is there. Don't you worry, I'll find a negative in it.

Exactly, i simply don't understand the mentality of someone that professes deep lying love for the club and has major concerns about the direction that the club is heading, but when the club give the fans the chance to voice their concerns in a public forum, they don't go.

The club doesn't give a flying and whatever is said wouldn't make a flying bit of difference either.
Fans have already had their intelligence levels questioned by McCabe telling them Sharp would be back at the last one, anyone who goes back for more must be bonkers.
A complete and utter waste of time. We won't acquire players for the sake of it, we're looking to get one or two in before the deadline (sorry, that one's out of date), we're looking to get Prem rejects etc, etc.
Actions speak a lot more than any words/guff coming out of Bramall Lane at the moment.

Tbh Olly, if there's anything i find more tedious than the constant negativity it's this sunshine band bollocks that's mushroomed over the last couple of weeks. I'd rather you just gave an honest answer, like len has just done.

Fair enough Len, i'm not sure how much i can argue with that. I'd still like to see if Speed gives answers that aren't the usual cliches. That may require questions being asked that aren't the usual cliched questions though....

So from above you dont trust anything the club says, It would therefore take a long time for you to trust the club again. Could you suggest what would start to rebuild your trust and what would dismatle your cynicle attitude.

Honesty. An admission the club's been mismanaged. Admissions mistakes have been made. An admission that none of the £20m from Tevez will go on new players. An apology for selling the only two young players of genuine quality for donkeys years in the blink of an eye because of mismanagement.
An honest account of the club's huge debts and the mistakes that have got us there. An honest account of the foreign clubs - not the shyte served up on the website.
That's off the top for a start.

The club do care. Even if you believe McCabe is only interested in his profit (which I don't), he still needs fans on-side to make the money for him.

Without digging out the transcript from the night, McCabe was hardly making a promise by saying that he expected Sharp would be back playing for us. The manager and the player would have made that call between them. And if I'm honest, I know very few fans who rate Sharp highly enough to be worried either way. Can anyone who was there that night tell us if there was a cast-iron promise Sharp would stay?

You're making the same mistake in your last comment as well. A statement about looking to get a couple of players in before the deadline is not a promise either. Do you think the club said that in the certain knowledge that they would achieve less? Or do you think they looked but failed?

The remit of the Meet the Manager event is to build a relationship between the fans and the management. No more than that. If everyone had your opinion then it's doomed from the start. And that would be a shame. Wouldn't it?

Oh dear as your beliefs above may OR MAY NOT BE true and you will never get those admissions you will never be satified as a Blade again - I feel sorry for you.

Wasn't there and only have someone elses word for this, but KM told someone I know at a golf club that Billy would be going nowhere even if "he had to bang some heads together"

46 years of age and this is my solitary ITK post. Disgrace.

On the OP, I feel a little sorry for Gary, because none of this shitstorm is of his making, but I think there's been plenty of words spoken and it appears a bit Nu Lab now in that if people are turning their backs they think it's because they haven't got their message across properly, not because people just don't believe them anymore.

He also said that people were grown ups, men and professionals, that they should resolve any differences in the normal manner and if he had to bang their heads together that's what he'd do.

I can only assume that one of the wills was stronger or one of the parties didn't want to patch things up.

As I said, any fans with owt upstairs no longer take anything at face value anymore - Raul's comparison with New Labour is bang on.
I don't think anyone believes in any of the guff they come out with - they simply look at what the club does.
And I didn't believe Speed's comments about trying to get a couple of players in was a promise. I assumed it was just an empty comment alongside all the rest the club keeps coming out with.

Exactly my point Len, exactly my point.

I think your doing a dis service to most fans. Most especially on here read between the lines. Just coz it doesnt coincide with your particular reading doesnt mean you have it right.
Reading between the lines and looking at what the club does- now ahh there's an intelligent guy. If after the playoff final and statements made by Mccabe about quality not quantity didnt you see the possibility of last season? well some of us did but we also recognise at that point that the restructure will take place regardless of us but maybe just maybe the manager carying out that restructure was the man to get us back in the playoffs also.
According to your beliefs about Speed then, he is just another puppet gap filler? and he doest have his own mind and he said that because Mccabe told him to?

Be fair JJ, Lenners wouldn't know. He cares so much about the club he never bothers to turn up or read all the transcripts, he just picks out bits he likes.

Still this whole 'clappers' vs 'slashers' nonsense still going on in this forum then I see?

Please, for the love of God, shut up. Having an opinion that may differ from others doesn't make you either. It makes you human.

Jeez.

No one's forcing you to read it :)

It raised it's head again recently... Like you say, there aren't two "camps" to be in and I'd rather we didn't make it that way.

I will have paper copies of the clapper or sunshine band application forms available for this evening if anyone wishes to come and make themselves known ;)

I am reliably informed that there's a shifty looking barman working tonight. If you see a tall lad with dirty blond hair and an earring (I ask you!), give him some stick... s'my little brother :D
