Or you simply play Didsy behind a front 2 in more of a drifting 10 role where he is not in the spotlight as much regarding expectations to score. Which, as our mid has been so weak most of this season, is where he ends up playing anyway. The build up to his shot tonight that clipped the bar involved Didsy on 4 occasions - he just drifts across the field playing give and gos and not one magpie went with him.

Didzy is alright as a floating 10, but he has a couple of flaws in the role imo. Hes not 'explosive' which we need a few times in a game and he tends to go for goal from odd positions after he's slowed play down. I like his snek hips and that unpredictability he has but the strikers struggle to make runs off it.

But his age is the one factor now that means in Nov 23 he will be 36 . We need someone vibrant and agile who will be 26 or 28 in Nov 23 as we could be in the prem again. The lack of pace will only get more apparent. He misses most of his gilt edged chances by being that fraction slower and hes not going to get any quicker.
All players have to accept their limitations and didsy has reached his I'm sorry to say

His birthday is the 29th November and he will be 34 not 36. Next season we will be in the Championship. I'm more worried about the half of the team who don't even look good enough to play at that level, and there's already plenty of those. We should worry about if a player is good enough for the Prem when we get back there.
 
It's no coincidence that when Didsy plays the number 10 role we retain possession better and play better. The first half of last season when we took the division by storm was no coincidence that Didsy mainly played that role. Spurs away was my definitive Didsy performance that season.

Towards the end of last season Wilder kept tinkering with the line up and positions and Didsy wasn't as effective. This season the front two changed pretty much every match with Didsy often frozen out even when he was fit. Suddenly Hecky reinstates him as a number 10 and we get 2 wins out of 3 in our final matches with Didsy shining in the two wins.
 
David McGoldrick is my favourite ever Sheffield United player.

Great player, great bloke, great story.

Glad he got to the Prem with us and got a decent haul of goals in the top division to cement his quality in the history books, if he looks after himself he's got a few more seasons in him yet, if he was 5 years younger he'd be attracting PL interest I'm sure.
 



Top performance again from a quality player. Able to make something out of nothing and serve himself. Top players find time to get on the ball and make a goal. His work rate is phenomenal, it's like there's 2 or 3 of him on the pitch.

Was nice he thanked the fans, for supporting him and singing his name, both on the pitch and in his later interview.

Seems to be really good with Brewster as well. Giving him encouragement when he did something good ( Brewster actually looked lively and up for it today).

Did he give a nod to the Kop for singing Brewster's name ? Or did I just imagine that ?

Didz is a must keep for next season, also Billy, Didz is one class act that has shone thorugh this last year of a shit show, not just the football either, ok he did have some off games, but hey, he (and Rammers) couldn't carry the rest of the team the whole time....
Didz might have got that goal yesterday that stopped us from making new records, but Rammers has pulled some pearlers out of the box to help with that.
 
Pablo Hernandez was one of Leeds key players in getting them promoted last year at 34. See no reason why McGoldrick can't do the same for us.
 
He's showing no signs of slowing down. Next year, if we want to attack the division, put McGoldrick behind a front 2 & watch him silk it up. You know you'll always get 100% from him. It's so important to have those characters in the dressing room.

Along with Basham & Sharp, he's now entering legendary status at the Lane, for me. The way he's applied himself this season has been really admirable.
 
He looks fitter and fitter as each game passes. Our own Benjamin Button?
 
Came across so humble & down to earth in his interview. From his self deprecating comment about still kicking himself over his miss at Newcastle ( score from 25 yards & miss from 10 - story of my career ) to his response when asked about the managerial situation ( I’m just a man in a football shirt, not a man in a suit ). Seems so grateful to be where he is & the perfect antithesis to Lundstram’s situation. Absolutely love the bloke. In a blokey blokes kind of way.
 
Didsy is a class act, both on and off the pitch. His post match interview here for those who haven't seen it. Apologies if it's been posted elsewhere.

If he was 5 years younger, he probably would never have played for us.
