He’s not played 100 games for us yet, and I honestly think he’s my favourite ever Blades player. I don’t think he’ll ever be knocked off that perch. But it’s a toss up between a few of the L1 to Prem lot to be honest.

The story of us signing him, us finding out JUST how good he was (I’d seen him play plenty, still had no idea some of the things he could do), him actually being able to stay fit after YEARS of on off injuries, to him scoring that lob against Derby after earlier missing a sitter, leading us to promotion at Hull.
Then fast forward a season, you’ve got the goal scoring hoodoo last season whilst getting all 4 sides of the ground singing his name, followed by that double against Chelsea, and then this season being our shining light, beacon of hope and unarguable POTY - it’s been incredible.

Let’s enjoy him while we can. We’ll struggle to ever find another one like him.

He just oozes class, sometimes I wish he was 5 years younger but I think he's one of those players that has got better with age.

We're a completely different team without him, I've never seen a striker dictate how a team plays so much as him.

My favourite goal of the season yesterday. Not there's a lot to choose from..

Made it himself with an absolute ping, and then gambled and finished well. The only player this season who has constantly created and looked to make something happen for us. If only he was a few years younger, but my god what a player!

I don't know if he's done or is doing his coaching badges but to listen to him on pre or post match interviews makes me think we need to keep him at the club after he's hung up his boots.

Plus the aforementioned Plymouth thing. I think it's pretty clear where your biases lie.

But anyway, I don't want to derail a thread about David McGoldrick because his contributions have been valuable. Be nice if everybody's contributions were appreciated though.

My favourite player of the last 10 years is still Mark Duffy, in fact he’s one of my favourites over the last 40 years,
I loved how he could dribble past players....using balance and body swerve....whereas almost every other dribbler relies on speed.
On a few occasions I took overseas visitors with me to Bramall Lane for a 1 off match to see their first ever English Football game
and on every occasion towards the end of the match they pointed to Duffy as being our best player.
Regards dribbling style he reminded me of Alex Sabella.

However I do agree that McGoldrIck is a lovely player...a poor man’s Dennis Berkamp without the goals.
Whenever I describe him to non Blades we always laugh because I sing his praises....brilliant first touch...good passer,,,high intelligence and great vision as though he has eyes in the back of his head but then say he has some weakness...he lacks physicality, poor in the air and can’t score goals..his first instinct is to pass rather than shoot.

His weaknesses means he’ll never be prolific....he‘s more of a support striker who likes to drop deep setting up other players...an excellent link player.
He’s one of our few players that actually has genuine PL quality....regards build up play.

The problem is if he goes another 10 games without scoring some of our fans will say he‘s crap because a strikers job is solely to score goals.
I disagree.....if it was just about goals...then McGoldrick would never get a game. You need to look at the bigger picture and what he brings to the team.

Didn't watch all game last night as my nerves were shredded and need to consider the old ticker, last night what I saw Didzy was awesome and if Man City had scored our goal Sky would still be wanking now. I remember getting him from Ipswich and all their fans saying we'd bought a dud, within a few months they were begging for him to come back.

I love him too, but he has a blind spot. As a team we don’t shoot enough from distance and we’re generally not very good at it, but he’s about the worst of the lot. If he goes for power, he’s never on target.

If he had a foot like a traction engine, he'd be a world beater. Our only intelligent footballer in my opinion, he seems to be the only one who sees things a few passes in advance and reads the game.

Probably Wilder's best signing, without doubt the best return on investment considering he cost nothing.

Only minor drawback is that his success might have lulled us into a false sense of hope with duds like Morrison, Burke and Rodwell.

That has to be up there as goal of the season. If that had been Salah or somebody else from the top six they’d be raving about it for the rest of the season. The cross field pass to Baldock was pin point and then to get up and score from Baldocks cross was unbelievable. I particularly liked how he checked his run to avoid being offside.

Amazing goal from an Amazing player.

I think he's a very good player. If he was more consistent at scoring, he'd have been a premier league regular his whole career. In fact, goal droughts aside, when you look at some of the crap who spent their careers playing in the Premier League, McGoldrick is better (Diouf, for example. How he had such a long Premier League career is beyond me).

His attitude impresses me the most though. He came ON TRIAL to us!? On trial. Not only that but he was Ireland's player of the year before retiring to concentrate on his club career.
Even last night Brewster said he had a word with him and gave him plenty of encouragement and advice.
