McGoldrick

Huge for us today. Talisman.

What McGoldrick gives us that McBurnie and Robinson cannot is intelligence. All round centre forward play; how he closes down, how he anticipates the ball and opposition players movement. That's what makes him a quality footballer and vital to us.

With Didsy & Mousset combined we may have the formula. Didsy wins and retains us possession and Mousset to give us moments of stretching defensive lines & getting inbetween defenders.

McGoldrick can also be a fantastic mentor Robinson, Mousset and McBurnie too.

What a signing. My MOTM today.

I couldn't take my eyes off him today. His movement, his touch, his workrate, I was just mesmerised. It's rare that I have games like this, where I'm just in awe of one individual.

Leon Clarke during his purple patch at the start of our first season back in the Championship was the last time I remember just watching one individual glide around the field producing moment after moment of quality.

I'm probably talking bollocks & people will provide numerous other examples of inspiring individual performances, but that was as good as I've seen in a long time.

Agree, McGoldrick and Mousset have great potential as a pairing. Mousset still make mistakes and have lapses of concentration, but he's got it all really. He got in the right areas today, got three assists, and looked more confident in his ability. He showed a lot of class when he delayed his through ball till the perfect moment when Fleck was racing through. Delighted that McGoldrick seems able to have a similar impact on our play as last season, thought he was great again.

As I pointed out to my old man, he just makes every other player look better. I don’t even know how, but he does. Yes he should score more, but Jesus he just takes our team to the next level, what a bloke.

Movement was sensational. Doesn’t need to score when he plays like that. He was everywhere, even dropping behind the left wing back.

“man like Didzy”

It was like time stood still when he played in Sharp for his chance. Seriously, how much time and space did he have, but more importantly, gave himself?

David McGoldrick will never score a premier league goal.

First few games he missed easy chances, and today, thanks to Baldock forgetting to cut his toenails, when he does finally score, it's ruled out.

Fully expect him to be through 1 on 1 against Man Utd, go past the keeper, only to be struck by a meteorite before he can finish.

Love you Didzy.

Outstanding today, he scored a goal and we all know it, a frame of blurry footage from 80 yards away robbed him, but his general play is sublime. Unbelievable that it took him so long to get to the Premier League really, I know he's not an out and out goalscorer but he's so good.

Old big nose himself said on Sky, McG and Moose ran tha Spurs defence ragged and were robbed of a goal.

Not quite fair on the guy......he ‘bummed’ his career away at a club that played above our level for several years

Yeah lower tier championship. He was always injured, accused of not puting in the effort. He's a different entity now.
