On the dazn stream i.was watching the commentator said mcgoldrick had injured himself doing shooting practice

Knock yourselves out

Ipswich fans said he was scared to put his foot through it after his bad run of injuries. I hope he's not getting frustrated with his finishing & snatching at it & doing himself damage. I really thought we missed him today first half. The gap between the midfield & forwards was far too large today & we rarely had controlled periods in Everton's final third. That's what McGoldrick brings to the team. We're going to need him.

Too right Goldy is the best most entertain player at the Lane for years. He's worth entrance fee on his own. Today was truly amazing - it was a really good performance. But Robinson I'm afraid was poor. He commits the worst of the worst for me, he feigns to close players down but in the last 5 yards he slows and never gets stuck in. Goldy speeds up in that last 5 yards and gets it- in basic terms he's amazing...

I'm yet to be fully convinced on Robinson. Shame, because like many others I expected big things after his pre-season. He's only impressed me in one half of competitive football so far. Hopefully more to come from him. But he's not creating regularly & he doesn't look much of a goal threat either.

Aye, I remember our old fan Benjamin Bloom saying that one of the big differences for McGoldrick post injury was that he lacked power in his shots compared to how he used to be.

Out wide at Chelsea he was fantastic.

Our problem is at the moment, the system is the important thing. If we're comfortable enough to slightly tweak it in the future, I think in that wide striker position he'll be immense.

Wasn't bad at Bournemouth either, but generally a bit meh from all our strikers bar Moose.

Need service desperately, Freeman would help for me. At this moment, I would say our best attacking situation would be McGoldrick, Mousset up front with Freeman, Lundstram and Norwood in midfield.

That shot last week didn’t lack power. He leathered the fuck out of it... somewhere into Row zz

No, but it might suggest that his preferred shooting technique might cause him some problems these days.

Might it? Based on what? A few Ipswich fans saying his shot wasn't that hard and then Wilder telling a commentator that he got injured during training whilst practising his shooting

It could be a hamstring from trying to lash at the ball, it could be a turned ankle from taking on a player during a 1 on 1 or perhaps the injury is sunburn from training without his shirt on in the Balmy September Sun. The injury is, as i understand it, so far unspecified.

It's a groin strain. Wilder mentioned it during the Radio Sheffield interview. Well worth a listen as he's very honest about the performance and he clearly loves Mcgoldrick as we all should.

Cheers for that, Post match interview?

Or Freeman

Yes CW said Didzy had done extra training as he was worried about the criticism he had received after the Soton game. It was during the extra training on Thursday that he felt a tweak in his groin. CW suggests he won’t play midweek but is hoping he may be fit for next Saturday.

Shame that. He was our player of last season and has probably been our best so far alongside Egan.

Hope he’s not taking it to heart, he’s vital to the team. And he’s the ultimate ‘gets something from nothing’ player.

We're in the Premiership. The standards at the very top. McG needs to man up and not become a snow flake if he's 'worried' about some criticism. I am a fan of McG, but reality is he's more of a CAM not striker.. We can't afford to waste chances in the premier league. Moose had one chance and boom.. goal.

I would personally say that would be Duffy but no doubt McG is a fantastic footballer, if he could finish he wouldn't be playing for us.

Wilder has also said that anybody criticising Didzy is ridiculous and that the team need 100% support, not 70%.
I totally disagree with Wilder on that, criticising players for missing numerous clear cut chances is pretty fair IMO. This is the premier league we can't afford to keep missing chances like mcD has.

Wilder was expressing his own disappointment at the criticism. No suggestion that Didsy was upset by it, quite the opposite actually. Wilder acknowledged that he is an experienced player who knows he should have scored, and was gutted for that reason.

I think we missed McGoldrick massively at the weekend.

No he probably wouldnt have taken the chance that Moose did but the gap between the midfield and the front two was far too big at times and NOBODY links up that area better than McG.

Fuck me. Are you 12?

Did your football team fail to validate you? You poor thing. Bless.

Newsflash. The only thing that will validate you is if you stop being a cunt.

Congratulations.
You've responded to a post you appear to feel is bollox by posting bollox of a far greater nature and then breaking the cuntometer record.
Great work.

Re Didzy.
I think his only position for us at this level is as the 10. The Duffy role.
That makes selection options both interesting and tough.
Go with 2 ahead of him and go with 2 from Lunny Norwood and Fleck behind or just 1 ahead.
For me it's the former . It gives us loads of options at the top of the pitch and Didzy is also great at tracking back and helping defensively.
