Tbf he's been played out of position pretty much all season. Hard to assess what he'd be like if he ever got to play in his preferred position. Maybe a decent enough squad player. He has put in some great tackles but as a CH he's really not up to the job.

Funnily enough, I recall reading in a programme earlier on this season that he now see's himself as a centre half than a full back... worryingly

No problem with keeping him as cover as long as he's not on silly money, can always look to do something different when (hopefully not if) we address the centre back problem

I expect that we will end up with at least 4 CB.

He will likely be 4th in the list, but we can't end up without two at any time next season. Kennedy is better, but we all know his problems, Brayford can't cover for six months and should be on the right whenever possible anyway and Basham must be in the center with Wallace or Coutts.

Be patient, we will see a minimum of two big, strong CB's coming in.

pffffffffffffft

Go for it Nigel, lets get everyone back onboard by re-signing the bloke who dropped the biggest bollock of the Season

He's fine as a back up CB. We just need somebody with either a bit of pace or positional nous next to him, which, unfortunately, we didn't have towards the end of this season.
Yep I'd agree with that. Think he also looked low on confidence as well

I swear everyone on here was saying how good he was before the Tottenham incident. I know he's not the best player in the squad but as back up he is a good asset. He's had a bad run of form, he deserves another chance in my view.

Exactly, people are too quick to get rid of players. He'll be ok as a back up

When he came in after weir, after Crewe last year, numerous times this season when we've had dips.

Look at murphy, Flynn, Mcnulty etc they've all low points
I accept them in the first paragraph, although i personally always thought Murphy would come good anyway and i wouldn't say he's picked McNultys' confidence up, he's knocked it a few times and he has ultimately suffered from it, i'll give you Flynny, he certainly picked him up.

But there are far more times where he has knocked confidence rather than installed it, poor man management under pressure is propably the reason for this.

Why has he knocked McNults confidence? For me he's got him on the straight and narrow and is helping him develop

Straight and narrow? The kid got smacked through no fault of his own, why was he wayward in the first place? I must have seen some other interviews from Clough than you have then:rolleyes:

He was also outstanding at Bristol City covering magnificently for Harris and doubling up to snuff out their pacey breaks.
He has become a scapegoat figure, wrongly IMO.
There's an adequate player there at this level.

I don't know about his off the field incident, I wasn't there ;)

But Clough has certainly helped him develop, looks a decent player now
