Does anybody know how serious McDonald's injury is? Big blow if we lose him and it sounds like he won't be available next week.

Edit: Wilson just said it's too early to say, so we'll just have to wait and see.

If it's not as bad as people think I'd say he's still not worth the risk. I'd rather him miss the wednesday game and be fit again rather than play and we lose him for 4/5 games.

We will have to try and get modric on loan To cover him

I agree with that. The derby game earlier in the year was arguably a bit too fast and frenetic for him - not one of his better games. The game might actually be better suited to Monty.

Agreed the ball won't be in midfield next week it will just be a battle.

WE NEED MCDONALD!

If today wasn't enough proof, but surely EVERYONE knows that Monty and Doyle are a shambolic partnership, and were a large contributor to our demise last season. We NEED him, and I am praying to whichever God exists that he is fit next week!

we're going to miss him next week. Would prefer Williamson to take his role next week, but Monty might be better suited to the derby.

Just get the ball out to the wings and balls in behind the back 4 and we should destroy them this way

Is it definitely a hamstring? I'm hoping for a deadleg.

Thought Preston (aided and abetted by their manager) were thugs today, particularly first half. Ideal practice for next week.

Their goal? He'll never score another like it. And, with 2 good goals Ched has to be MoM despite an appalling penalty, but young Harry and LJF were both superb.

Dunno what's happened to Quinny, though.

Could it be bad cramp from his 3rd game in a week? (albeit early in the game)

What about Collins? Best player on the pitch in my opinion.

In a funny kind of way McDonalds injury with Monty his likely replacement will actually make us stronger next week at Wednesday. Monty is made for big games away from home.

I don't understand why so many fancy going to the swill for a battle. They will be better at it, because it's all they do. I want us to pass them off the park and I'm really hoping McDonald is fit.

UTB

finest bit of misplaced optimism i've heard for some time.. good luck to you mate..
losing macdonald is a fucking disaster.

Exactly, play the game our way and we'll win. Without Big Mac it will be difficult (not impossible mind). Resort to battling and we won't win - they've had 32 games practicing that style. I do believe in Wilson though, I don't think he will panic, and I'm hopeful the players will follow suit.

Oh no the sky is falling the sky is falling.
One of the most amazing bits of misplaced panic i've seen. To some losing Phillips and Clarke was a disaster and look what happened after.
we're in 2nd place and clear FGS!

I knew it. You just can't wait to return to mediocrity! Some of you actually welcome K-Mac's injury, don't you?

It's football! How on earth can The Maestro be 'better suited'? Are we actively looking to give away: the ball? Free-kicks in dangerous areas? a penalty? If so, he's your man. Do we intend to allow the Hoofers a monopoly of possession and chase their shadows for 90 minutes? If so, he's your man.

If, however, we want to assert our superior football skills, may I suggest a footballer would be 'better suited'?

Yet again, I despair.

in no small measure to macdonalds outstanding contribution in case you hadn't noticed?.. you do go to the games don't you?.. macdonald is the tall guy with the tin tin haircut
usually the outball??

i'm just posting the same things pinchy.. i despair as well.. coming from boo's usual miserable ramblings this certainly is a turn about in fortunes

Your right of course and your the main one. you've been itching to see someone get injured so monty could come in because you despair when you have nothing to talk about your more one dimensional than any football we've seen over the last few seasons. you profess to know something about football but yet make no comment on other players before other people have pointed out how good or bad someone is.

Its amazing how you can judge a positive post about our team as 'miserable ramblings'. I can see why you despair if you cannot see it.

For me I have faith in the manager who has given us some of the best football seen in years, you two obviously do not.

i was angry today when KMac got injured and we brought on Monty. Why not bring Williamson on FGS?
Surely Williamson would be a better replacement for monty.
BUT Wilson is our manager & he is better qualified than me....and we got the 3 points!!
I think williamson is better suited to the derby though!

I hope Danny Wilson doesn't think of ever moving Ot to Derbyshire it seems to bring on some kind of attention seeking know it all syndrome

Well said Kev. I think thats a very good point. people respect his decisions one way they slate him for another. I would suggest Willo was not completly right or he would have played from the start and maybe it was to protect him for next week. If played in the middle he would have had a lot harder game and the greater chance of injury flair up.

Thats also a good spot Judge. perhaps some are lonely

Monty and Doyle in the middle against the Pigs. Could work. But then what happened the last time that we played a physical side away from home with those two in the middle. We got beat. Away at Stevenage, we got completely outplayed. Monty and Doyle chased shadows all afternoon. The maestro's distribution was utterly shocking. We had little attacking options and Stevange were comfortable winners.

If we go to the Sty to be 'solid', I think we'll get beat. We should go an play to our strengths. That means playing football. We could go and pass the Piggies off the park. We are on a roll and have the momentum. We're creating chances, scoring goals and look red hot. The Pigs are on the slide. I do fear that we'll be lesser without K Mac in the team though. We certainly won't control possession like we normally do. But one man doesn't make a team and we'll create chances.

I really hope McDonald is fit. But we probably should not risk him if he is not. Even if we were to lose to the Pigs, we could beat Scunny a few days later and be 5 points in front of them again (with a game in hand).

If Maccy d dont make it next week surely the last united player to score at Swillsboro must play

williamson floats in a free kick

whos that in the united shirt to the far left , he looks familiar

well we don't have to agree with everything.. we're not americans who blindly follow the flag..

In Bradwell? Bradwell? A Bradder pothole ruined one of my tyres when I had an MG. Well over £100 for a new one and that's nearly five years ago. Bradder has potholes just like the rest of the Peak District. There are less roads so there are less potholes but the roads are far from smooth.

can't say i'm surprised.. not the best built cars are they?

The sheep are now actually outnumbered by speed cameras FACT.
