I have always had a lot of respect for McCabe, but looking at some of his recent decisions, I fear that he might not be the right man to appoint the new manager.
In recent years, he has:
1) Sanctioned player sales that arguably contributed to getting us relegated from both the Premier League and the Championship
2) Got rid of Warnock immediately after the Wigan game
3) Appointed Robson
4) Sacked Blackwell two league games into the season (one of which we performed well in) after he has spent all summer planning for the campaign ahead
5) Appointed Speed as the “man for the job”, then let Speed go
6) Appointed Adams as the “right man for the job” then let Adams go.
This leads me to believe that McCabe should not personally make the decision on who the next manager is. I would be more confident if he did not have the final say and the decision was left to a majority vote by the board.
