McBurnie

For me McBurnie had 1 purple patch that came and went before the world cup. Ignore that freak purple patch and he's been mediocre for years. 2 assists is abysmal imo. I'd be gutted if we extended his contract
Leon Clarke the 2nd !!

Imagine the cock sucking if he’d have scored at the sty 😂

Mcburnie regularly wins headers in our penalty area, more than his fare share, perhaps if we supplied crosses into our opponents area more
often and earlier he would stick a few in the net.

Sorry but he isn't scoring enough goals at all- he's not in the right places because he's far far too slow. Great we won yesterday but c'mon he was epitomy of useless.

Link up play? He's our number 9 - he needs to score a few goals- Cardiff were dogshit, Wigan were the same - good forwards would have scored multiple times against this standard.

You can't keep apologising for him, at the time we got MCB there were soundings of perhaps Wilder getting Ollie Watkins - yes we know wages an issue- but Jesus H Christ that's a lethal striker, MCB just isn't.

On the plus side he's great at defending corners- but sorry in this team Illy carries MCB- if we had a decent partner we'd be above Burnley.
Whilst I agree McBurnie wasn't great, you do realise Sharp was playing up front against Wigan.

My view exactly. Trots around like Bambi until he decides it's time to take a little dive. Heads OK in defence but then he's not exactly aiming for a 192 square feet target.

Ha ha, whislt it's a joke, I do actually think this has had a negative affect on his play. Looks knackered after 20 mins and the strength he was showing Oct/Nov seems to have evaporated.
100% has had an effect on his performance. He went on a rocky training montage, bulked up a bit, come back fitter and stronger than ever and we and him reaped the awards. Let's hope he gets back at it

Always felt with McBurnie he needs everything going for him, form, fitness, confidence, when that happens he can be a handful, because he can score a lot of different types of goal. But otherwise he lacks any outstanding physical or technical qualities to fall back on. I think at very best if he can keep himself fit and motivated, we have a decent all round player, with occasional runs of goalscoring form, but not someone we can build or rely on in either division. At worst injury prone and way off the Prem standard technically.

Ahahah - yes your right- I preferred Billy playing- I think the team plays better without McB-

Don't get me wrong I've nothing against McB - I just plain do not see a good striker in him at all.

For me he's too slow, both with and without the ball, I feel sorry for him closing down but not really closing down - he never ever gets there it's a mouse in a wheel - getting knackered but actually going nowhere.

His touch is poor, his shooting is woeful but saying all that I can promise you one thing- if he bags tonight I'll be cheering as loud as you are.

I thought we had a striker back pre Xmas.

But since his Injury and combined with observing Ramadan., he appears to have regressed again.

Thay said, I dont think sharp offers us anything either.

Surely it's Jebbison's time now. Lets give him a run in the side and see what happens. It can't really be any worse than McBurnie & Sharps' post world cup form can it?

He has said that he doesn’t like eating. Not sure he has it in his mentality to stay bulked up.

I can't work the guy out - every time I come to the conclusion he's not that good, he has a bloody stormer of a game. He's certainly due one.......

McB was decent for 45 mins tonight. Actually looked like a footballer.

Must have been the ramalamadingdong / niggly injury / insert excuse of choice for the drop off a cliff level of the 2nd half !!

If you can not see the difference in workrate / movement / technique that other strikers offer, god bless ya 👍.

Well down the list of “problems” tonight, a night where we’ve won again.

Ask his fellow pros if he’s any good/if they like him… rather than folk who decided very early into his Blades career.

I’m sure he’d love to return to the purple patches, but barring 1 today which he should have done a lot better with, however he plays, we don’t make him the chances.

Good result, dodgy performance, no need to dig folk out.

Hands up who booed em off at half time?

I didn't hear these boos.. I was still awake, frozen, and bored.
But they must be really quiet, these wretched boo boys, as I heard boos for the ref only.

I thought he was poor. I get he did not have chances created but has to hold it up, work harder and try and be a nuisance.

I think he has had a great season and bounced back after a few poor years but he has not been great last four or five weeks. He needs to impose himself more but I am concerned that he looked so slow ands sluggish even after the opening of the game.

When Sharp came on we improved hugely as he put himself about, held it and linked with others.

I have no issues if McBurnie is not scoring, creating or a threat (especially if we create little) but the ball has to stick and/or he needs to make it uncomfortable for defences. Tonight not sure he did either of that.

His ball control is poor, he scarcely ever looks in full control of the ball.
He almost always loses it as he tries to run at the defence. He never hits a shot properly and it is always badly struck, a weak effort.
I was delighted with his purple patch, and want more of the same.
