McBurnie

Absolutely. He should have done better with it.

Encouraging that we (and he) managed to get in that position, but in the big boys league we have to finish those more often.

Who in the squad would you have put £100 on bagging it? Because at the moment, i'd have kept my money in my pocket, it's not just McB.
I’d also keep my money pocket.

All wilder can do is work with what he has got and pick the best players for the circumstances and opposition.

People can and do slag all our strikers off with their own agendas, but wilder picks the team. That’s good enough for me and who ever is on the pitch we should be supporting 100%.

stats arguments now ...well how about who scored most last season although I don't want to sound as though I'm slaggin sharp because I'm behind all the players but McBurnie did score more and In my opinion he is now a better option than Billy .

Why would I ever do that? I don't need you to agree with me. I've presented my evidence. I'm happy enough
Why would you ever !!!

Fair dinkum. I guess going forward we will have to go by the inaccurate / made up / skewed stats that the club produce to accentuate your points 😂.

Still he isn’t doing enough though.

You use the Tory parties numbers. I'll use the office of national statistics 🤷‍♂️

Ya didn't delve into it but ill do it for you. Naturally if you pass less the chances for a higher percentage are increased. 1 pass 1 completed per 90 looks superb as a percentage.

Anyhow passes per 90, mcb 32. Sharp 15.

Which suggests sharp isnt anywhere near as involved.

I think it's safe to say that since we've come back up none of our strikers has proved that they're good enough to be starting in the Premier League.

The nearest is probably McGoldrick but he obviously had issues with scoring last year. Age and niggling injuries seem to have caught up with him this season so far.

Fact of the matter is one of our most expensive strikers needs to start chipping in with goals soon.

Billy when presented with a chance is currently a better finisher than Mcburnie, however due to his age and physical attributes ie height, and more importantly speed he has difficulty getting into the right positions which is precisely why Wilder favours Mcburnie.
Not only has a Mcburnie the prospect of getting better but his all round game and attributes mean that he is more likely to bring other players into the game, which is why I look forward to seeing him with Brewster.

But when all is said and done it is all about opinions, just a pity that they cannot be debated over a pint as opposed to behind a keyboard where people I am sure say things that they would not say in person.
So chill out accept people’s opinions and enjoy being a Blade, if life was easy it would be boring and rest assured that the deeper the troughs the higher the peaks. We have previously had 4 good seasons and expect a small blip.

ONS stats that you are incapable or unwilling to share with the uneducated amongst us ?

No Web Links ??

No reference to data sources ??

Im sold 😉.

I literally posted the Web link earlier - fbref.com. But you're too far down your own rabbit hole to notice stuff.

Im not your Mum. Find the rest yourself

I’m happy to meet for a pint.

I’m also happy to stand by every word I’ve ever typed in person.

Im the tiny “small man syndrome” type fella in the corner with his hands on his head btw !!!

Anyone who think Billy is the Answer to our problems isn't aware of the question. He's too old to be reliable week in week out. No way should he be first name on the team sheet. He absolutely can and does do a fantastic job, he just can't do that for 90+ mins a game, 38+ games a season. Pretty clear, really.

No one is suggesting that is the case.

What folks (well me anyway) are suggesting is that it is concerning that McB, even as early in the season as it is, has played almost 3 times as many minutes as Sharp, and it’s REALLY difficult, as things stand, to understand why.

Sharp is, categorically, not the medium to long term solution. That’s a given.

Is McB ?? (Rhetorical question if you please).

I think McBurnie just needs the "rub of the green" he needs a spawny one to go in he seems to be looking for the "perfect goal" every time, which in truth seems to be United's mantra. When at Lane especially they should be hitting opposition GK with long range efforts as can lead to spills which, can be taken advantage of.

Underwhelming data source.

Gives me goals / appearances / minutes and that’s about it.

I hadn't realised you were unable to navigate a website for grownups. Literally the biggest free access data source in the world.

Yes that’s exactly what I am saying.

Wilder does have to justify himself. When it’s not working, absolutely he does. My tune has not changed and won’t change in that regard.

Plenty of credit still in the bank and I categorically do not want a change of manager.

But the credits are being spent atm and this cannot continue adinfinitum !

Yesterday was his best performance this season

All round top striker performance all he missed was a goal

Absoloute nonsense

Mcburnie is our best striker and should be starting every single match he is the focal point for most of our attacks and helps us build play

If you don’t believe me watch last night again ?
Or the Man City home match last season
Or the Chelsea home match
Or the spurs match at home

The matches where he’s bullied some of the best teams out Europe

The lad bullies defenders he’s just dominated two of the best CB’s in the league something strikers very rarely do

Some embarrasing opinions on mcburnie and they probably won’t ever change because he isn’t a 20 goal a season striker and never will be unless we end up back in the championship

I’m failing miserably here then. Done what you have said and still only getting squad stats, nothing for the individual.

Im genuinely interested in a comparison.

To keep the sample size meaningful, I’d appreciate this season and last seasons numbers.

I’ll keep trying !!!
