Mcburnie

I don’t think you watched the same game as most of us

Go back and read those who agree with me? Silly me, I thought this was a football forum for opinions. Clearly not. I wouldnt say most, but then again, you probably feel safe in pack mentality.

McBurnie wasn't poor today, he was isolated and too far from his partner, starved of service and expected to score from poor deliveries. My only real criticism was his lack of effort off the ball.

Like others said, when we only had 30% possession and the majority of that was with the back five, what exactly was he expected to do with nothing?

Making an (early) judgement on players we've spent big money on it not slagging them off its what all football fans do.

We all love Wilder but the truth is he has made some bollocks in the transfer market, and at the moment it looks like for the money we spent on them both McBurnie and Robinson don't look an improvement on what we had.

I'd have felt really good going into this season with Ched fucking Evans, Connor Washington, and Caolan Lavery too.

Think we'd have had a chance at the title if we had.

Wilder out.

What are you talking about?

McBurnie was abysmally bad today. I feel sh*te thinking as to how the Blades were supposedly to spend reasonable cash to strenghten the attack, and this is what we've got having spent nearly £ 40. Wilder is good, Wilder is great, and long live Wilder - but this time he's got the transfer business wrong. And f*ck everyone telling as to how I'm supposedly a "wrist-slasher", don't know sh*te etc. F*ck your deluded selves, please.
Fucking hell 😂😂 clown

I said last week he looks like a Championship striker at best.

I know our defence today kept out what is probably the best attack in the PL but boy they look miles ahead of our attack!!!

Sure, it could've been I was just being too tired and sh*t-faced, but what I saw was McBurnie loosing the aerial battle all over the pitch, and didn't do anything with the few chances he got. Yes, I know, I should go and get my coat...

I don't think it's fair to write players off for performances against Europe's best. But I do think our defence with a Vardy or similar up front would be very tasty. Trouble is they are like rocking horse shit. I'm hoping our guys grow in confidence a bit.

I think we are starting to see what Chris saw, I’m no expert by a long way but I imagine it’s not easy just walking into a new team, stepping up a level etc in such such a short time

I like McBurnie, but a lot will disagree and laugh but I actually think Gary Madine holds the ball up better. Not a dig at McBurnie just my opinion. Was a little disappointing that we didn’t by Madine. £3 million worth a punt? McBurnie will improve but he does need to work on parts of his game.

I agree with you totally on Madine. He looked a much better footballer than any of us reasonably expected him to be, holding up especially.

I think I would be less disappointed with McBurnie if he pulled his socks up.....

I always appreciated the efforts from McGoldrick and Clarke, even though they struggled with the end product. Just watching McBurnie walking around and not chasing down the defenders disappoints me.

I hate to put a dampener on things but for me, he currently isn't worth 17/20 Mill.

We completely change our way of playing for him, go direct and predictable. However he very rarely wins headers and more often than not good down, too lightweight, getting muscled off. When he does win headers (goal aside) then he doesn't direct them properly.

Hope he improves, but when Billy, didsy and Leon are still in the mix, then your front men aren't doing it.

UTB

I think it's a difficult one..

If we're in the Championship, he's scored 5 or 6 goals now. People need to realise we're up against quality defenders. McBurnie was being marked by one of, if not the best CB in the world today
