Mcburnie this Mcburnie that …

Blimey this is hard work to get it across, I stick up for the players, Brewster, Berge, Mousett, McGoldrick etc etc you know players that have gone through tough times and proper slagged to fuck on here, I’ve always stuck up for them and praised them from way back. BUT when it’s match day I will give an opinion on the match, it’s not slagging and yes it’s not praise at times if that makes you happy, Berge is the best player at the club, love him and I’ve always said it, but you know the next game if he is playing poorly I will say in that particular game he is playing poorly and maybe wants hooking, that’s just my opinion on the game, it’s not slagging him, but if you want to stick to that’s not praise, fair enough have that point.

I assumed you were a McB fanboy because you got your fanny in a twist for some reason.
I wouldnt bother with that fool, he/she's doing the same with me. It's either thick or being deliberately obtuse.

Is this a new song ?
"McBurnie this , McBurnie that ,
McBurnie's such , a feckin twat
Nah nah na-na , nah na-na ,
Nah nah"

So while some people think fans are being to harsh in criticising some of our big money transfers. I prefer to keep a balanced view.
Brewster and Berge have finally shown some bit of improvement. Brewster still has a long way to go. A couple of good games doesn't mean that they are the level of performance required. I evaluate what is happening over the season and seasons. McBurnie just has not performed for the club. For what ever reason.

The one point I will make is how long do we think a player should be at a club before we should expect consistent performances at a decent level. Because with all three it is 2 to 3 years. Yes i know that there has been some injuries but for some reason when they have played can we say they have been consistently at the level required.?
Very fair minded comments.

I don't personally have an agenda on him, I just want my strikers to be a goal threat.

He's never going to be the finisher that Sharp is. He lacks the anticipation.

My concern is that he is regressing.

I had a look back at his United goals so far and my concern is that I don't see him capable of scoring his previous goals these days, and they were against Premier League teams.

Vs Leicester. Great header - he hardly looks like scoring from a cross or corner. Got nowhere near scoring despite multiple chances vs Hull.

Vs Man U. Quick anticipation on this occasion to equalise. At Huddersfield he had a few like this and he has become so flat footed.

Vs Brighton. Showed pace and power to finish when put through. Never gets in these positions and when he does have a sight of goal he can hardly kick it properly.

Vs West Ham. A scuffed effort. But at least he found space. Hardly does this because he's so slow and lacks anticipation.

Vs Spurs. Quick to react prods home. Just not seeing that anticipation anymore.

Vs Chelsea. Finds space then deft header. Nothing anywhere near that.

Vs Leicester. Overpowers 2 defenders and scores with a header in the corner. Having added the long throw to our arsenal you'd expect him to feature more with this but still no.

Maybe he needs a bit of luck and all things will then click but if we rely on him having a run to get this, well surely not make the top 6.

Including him because he is useful defensively is a weak argument. We are expected to finish top three before the season and take each game to teams. Picking strikers that don't score because they may assist you defensively is the opposite of this.

For me, if he plays, then play him and Jebbo together and see if Jebbo's pace gets more out of him. It's a total waste alongside Sharp; they don't bring anything to each other's game.

Nah don't think I'll bother.

21 hour round trip at great expense..

If I'd have known mcburnie was starting I would have stayed in bed..

But to compound that with dropping berge as he hits sensational form, well, fuck me sideways..

We were a beaten team once hecky named that starting 11..

He took a gamble leaving MGW and Berge on for so long against Blackburn. It paid off then but made them miss out today.

So it worked against Blackburn but was costly yesterday. Still a decent return with three points against two good teams. And better to take three off Blackburn than Millwall.

It's all a gamble anyway just now, but I do like Headshrinkers way of thinking, I would have been satisfied with two draws, but we finished up with 3 points instead.

Watch out above , we're coming to get yer...... 🤞

Is it ? If so please explain with an actual reason/explanation instead of using big hard words 😮😮😮
Nothing hard about bollocks. The bit about "He did a hell of a lot more than billy sharp today that’s for sure"; there was nothing in it between the two of them. Plus, you admitted last week that you liked winding certain posters up with your Billy Sharp barn-door blather, so I'm happy to reciprocate. We Are The People indeed!

I don't know oli mcburnie. I've no idea if he's lazy and doesn't give a fuck, if he's just not as good as his purple patch at Swansea seemed to suggest, or if the way we play just doesn't suit him.

But I do think some people go a bit OTT slagging him off. We seem to love a scapegoat as a fan base, and oli is the flavour of the month on that front.

As I've said before re Brewster, criticise his performances all you like, but I think some of the abuse goes a bit far, especially given it's pretty well known that he reads this forum.

I'd love him to come good and start banging goals in, but if he doesn't, and he ends up being a failure of a signing, then people should remember that he is still a human being, and it must be really shit to read so many comments calling you a cunt, a waster, worst signing ever etc etc.

Just my 2p-worth.

Two observations about McBurnie :-

1) He is at his best coming on to the ball in the penalty area.

2) He found the less time and space afforded to him in the Premier league was difficult to adjust to, bearing in mind he had often to drop much deeper on many occasions.

Therefore, how do we accommodate point 1) to get the most value from him ?

Not that it is necessarily comparable, but I am put in mind of Chelsea paying near one hundred million quid for Romelu Lukaku.

They were impressed with his goal scoring form for Inter Milan in a league with good defences.

Now if I was bringing him to Chelsea for that money, I would think that it would be best to play the same system as Inter Milan in order to get the most value from him.

Many differing opinions on McB but for me the main problem is that he can’t kick the ball properly, head it properly or run properly and is completely and utterly shite.

All valid points but he occupies space and stuff..
