Can't see us signing both now we look like signing Mousset as it would mean an overload in forward areas, but I definitely see us signing one. Reports of a rejected bid for McBurnie yesterday, RC and other ITK's say we have an agreed fee with Brentford for Maupay but it's down to the player now... But who should we choose if we are only to sign one?

I was camp Maupay for quite a while but now we look like putting some serious pace upfront I think Oli's physical presence, height and goalscoring touch will come in very handy.
It's a hard choice but after much deliberation I'm in camp McBurnie.

It will gradually disappear from the game.
Thats one of the big advantages of VAR where it works.
Players can dive as much as they want...they get no advantage and it’s just a waste of time.

I wouldn’t say they’re totally different players. Maupay is a poacher and mcburnie sits a little deeper and works harder. Rio Ferdinand and Alan Shearer were totally different players 😄

At this point in time. Maupy looks the better buy.. I'm also confident he will be ahead come May as i predicted

On the game yesterday...a really goodcway to compare....McBurnie looked a better player and scored the winner. Maupay has scored more this season but as others have said Mousset has been outstanding so Oli had to bide his time. Last 3 or 4 games he has been excellent. I think Maupay will score more goals this season but SteveM being a striker is about other things too. Look at McGoldrick. He offers so much more to our team.

I like both Maupay and McBurnie and ultimately the fact financially his agent and him were not happy with what we offered meant Wilder did not sign him. That's his choice. I want players who want to play for us. I think he is a really good player (Egan had him in his pocket today tho) but so is Oli and confident he will be a great player for us. My main gripe with Maupay is his play acting. He did it at Brentford and saw it again in the game at the Amex. Stay on your feet.

Ultimately it's the league position that matters...I don't care who gets the goals really.

Quick update, I know you’re usually quick to do this but you must be feeling unwell or something so I’ll do the honours...

After yesterday’s game, stats for the premier league this season comparing McBurnie and Maupay...

Goals v Brighton - McBurnie 1
Goals v Sheff United - Maupay 0

Points v Brighton - McBurnie 3
Points v Sheff United - Maupay 0

Position in league table - McBurnie 5th
Position in league table - Maupay 13th
 
Lost all respect for morepay when he decided to.sign for rod hull instead of sir Chris
 



Maupay using Brighton as a stepping stone. Plastic club. McBurnie going to be a big player for us moving forward. Superb last night!
 
McBurnie had his best game so far for us yesterday. Especially second half he was making some really neat lay-offs. Easiest chance he'll get for a while, I know, still took his goal nicely.

I still think he's a bit out of sync with the rest of the team. Often he's started his run too late not expecting the ball to get released or he's coming back to receive the ball when he should stay running the line. No doubt that'll get better with game time.
 
Owen Hargreaves had Basham MOTM, but he calls the Bournemouth player Ryan Frasier. So what does he know. McBurnie should’ve been MOTM. Billy also had a good game. Just wish our service to them from crosses was a bit better. We got into a lot of good positions but the ball rarely found our player.

You’d be entitled to come on here if you hadn’t been such a gutless no-show after we beat you at your place.

Thanks for the 4 points and enjoy the rest of your relegation battle. If you park the bus like you did today you might just scrape together enough points to stay up.
